Oakland-Wawanesa is a rural municipality in southwestern Manitoba, set along the Souris River south of Brandon and within easy driving distance of the Assiniboine River valley. The area combines working prairie, mixed-grass grasslands and river-bottom forest, and it sits close to one of Manitoba's most distinctive parks: Spruce Woods Provincial Park, home to the Spirit Sands dunes and the Devils Punch Bowl. RV travellers use the area as a base for river paddling, hiking the sand dunes, and quiet lakeside stays. Nearby options include Pelican Shores RV Park, Meadowlark Campground, Forest Hills RV Park and Cabins, and Dusty Mile Outfitters, along with the large provincial campground at Kiche Manitou - Spruce Woods Provincial Park. The region is prairie country with wide horizons, small service towns, and short highway drives between attractions. Wawanesa and Glenboro provide groceries, fuel and propane, while Brandon serves as the closest full-service city for RV supplies, repairs and larger shopping runs.

Kiche Manitou at Spruce Woods is a provincial campground and books through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service at manitobaparks.com or by phone at 1-888-482-2267. Reservations open at 7 a.m. online and by phone. Manitoba Parks staggers opening days over five days each spring, and Kiche Manitou opens on the northern and western region campgrounds day, typically in mid-April. A Park Vehicle Permit is required and must be displayed year round. Long weekends require a minimum two-night stay that includes Saturday and Sunday. Cancellations made four or more days before arrival incur a non-refundable fee, and cancellations within three days of arrival are charged the equivalent of one night. Private parks in the area, including Pelican Shores RV Park, Meadowlark Campground, Forest Hills RV Park and Cabins, and Dusty Mile Outfitters, are booked directly with each operator and generally accept phone and online reservations.
