Campgrounds and RV parks near Prairie Lakes, MB

Prairie Lakes is a rural municipality in southwestern Manitoba centred on Pelican Lake, the largest navigable lake in southwestern Manitoba, about 18 kilometres long and 1.6 kilometres wide. Ninette, at the north end of the lake, is less than a one-hour drive to Brandon and about a two-hour drive to Winnipeg, making the area a practical base for RV travellers exploring the region's lakes, dunes and Turtle Mountain uplands. Campgrounds cluster around two main draws. Pelican Lake itself is ringed by private and municipal sites, with Pelican Shores RV Park serving lakeside travellers close to Ninette. To the north, Spruce Woods Provincial Park covers 269 square kilometres of spruce parkland, forest, mixed-grass prairie and the Spirit Sands, anchored by the large Kiche Manitou campground and served by nearby operators such as Dusty Mile Outfitters and Forest Hills RV Park and Cabins. To the south, William Lake Provincial Park sits on the flank of the Turtle Mountains and offers a quieter, forested alternative with stocked trout fishing and hiking. Together, these options cover full-service RV stays, basic provincial sites and outfitter-style bases.

Provincial park sites are reserved through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service. Reservations open each spring at manitobaparks.com and by phone at 1-888-482-2267 (toll-free) or 204-948-3333 in Winnipeg, with in-person service available in Winnipeg from 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday at 1181 Portage Avenue. Manitoba Parks stages the launch in phases to spread out demand on opening day, and Kiche Manitou at Spruce Woods and William Lake both use this system. Popular electrical sites at Kiche Manitou often clear out within days of the launch window. A Park Vehicle Permit is required in Manitoba provincial parks, so factor that into arrival planning. Private options such as Pelican Shores RV Park, Dusty Mile Outfitters and Forest Hills RV Park and Cabins are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their websites. For summer weekends, reserve well in advance; midweek stays and shoulder-season nights are easier to secure on shorter notice.
