Campgrounds and RV parks near Tobique 20, NB

Tobique 20 sits on the north side of the Tobique River in western New Brunswick, where the Tobique meets the Saint John (Wolastoq). It is the main reserve of Tobique First Nation (Wolastoqiyik Neqotkuk), the largest Wolastoqiyik community in the province. RV travellers typically base themselves in the nearby Grand Falls region, roughly 25 kilometres south, where most private campgrounds are clustered. The closest options include Mulherins Campground, a private family-run park in the Grand Falls area, and Falls and Gorge Camping Chutes and Gorge, a municipal campground perched above the Saint John River gorge in downtown Grand Falls. River Country Campground and Eagle Falls Campground also sit within the same corridor along Route 2 and the Trans-Canada, while Arndts Aroostook River Lodge and Campground lies just across the border in Maine. The area works well as a stopover between Fredericton and the Gaspé, or as a base for exploring the upper Saint John River valley, the Tobique River, and Mount Carleton Provincial Park to the east.

Provincial park sites at Mount Carleton are booked through the Parks New Brunswick reservation system online or by phone. Seasonal campsite reservations open in mid-January, and nightly camping reservations open on February 10 at 9 a.m. AST. A non-refundable reservation fee applies to each campsite reservation. Private campgrounds such as Mulherins Campground, River Country Campground, Eagle Falls Campground, and Arndts Aroostook River Lodge and Campground are booked directly with the operator by phone, email, or their own website. Falls and Gorge Camping Chutes and Gorge is a small municipal park that fills quickly in July and August, so reserve several weeks ahead for weekends. First-come, first-served sites are limited but sometimes available midweek at Mount Carleton.
