Campgrounds and RV parks near Paradise, NL

Paradise sits on the Avalon Peninsula in eastern Newfoundland, immediately west of St. John's and within a short drive of both Conception Bay and the Atlantic coast. The town works well as an RV base: highway access via the Trans-Canada is direct, and most nearby campgrounds cluster within an hour's drive along Route 1 and the Southern Shore. The closest large public option is Butter Pot Provincial Park, located on the Trans-Canada Highway roughly 36 km southwest of St. John's. It offers a large campground, multiple trails, and several ponds for swimming, paddling, and fishing. Private RV-focused options include Marine Park Jellystone in Pouch Cove, The Oldmill RV Park in Avondale, and Crowhill RV Park near Brigus. For a quieter, more scenic stop further south, La Manche Provincial Park sits along Route 10 on the Southern Shore, where a waterfall, trail and lily-filled ponds make this a beautiful park, and a trail and suspension bridge lead to the abandoned village of La Manche. The park offers 82 campsites in a lovely forested area, most with views of the freshwater ponds located within, and each campsite features a picnic table, fireplace and space for a vehicle, most accommodating larger RVs.

Butter Pot and La Manche both take reservations through that portal; peak dates release together on opening morning and popular waterfront sites can go quickly. Private campgrounds book directly. Marine Park Jellystone, The Oldmill RV Park, and Crowhill RV Park each handle their own reservations by phone or through their websites, and Marine Park in particular carries both seasonal contracts and overnight sites. A few practical notes: Butter Pot sites are largely unserviced, though there is a sanitary dump station in the park, while electrical hook-ups are available at 27 of the 82 campsites at La Manche and feature 15, 30 or 50 amp service.
