Campgrounds and RV parks near Audet, QC

The headline activity is dark-sky astronomy at Mont-Mégantic, home to the ASTROLab and observatory. The park has 20 km of hiking trails leading to vantage points at the summits of Mont Mégantic (1,110 m) and Mont Saint-Joseph (1,075 m). Visitors can time a trip to coincide with the ASTROLab's Astronomy Festival in early July or with the annual Perseids meteor shower. On the water, Lake Mégantic supports swimming, sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddling from Camping Baie Des Sables, which also operates a marina and a sandy beach. Cycling routes link the Franceville sector to nearby villages, and the broader Route des Sommets ties the region together by car.

The RV season around Audet is short and tightly defined by Quebec's climate. Most campgrounds open in mid-May and close in mid-October. Camping Baie Des Sables typically operates from early May to mid-October. Sépaq's Mont-Mégantic Observatoire sector runs from mid-May into mid-October, and the Franceville sector follows a similar window. Frontenac's Baie Sauvage campground typically operates from mid-May to late October. July and August are peak months: warm days, full programming at the ASTROLab, and the highest demand for serviced sites.
