Campgrounds and RV parks near Austin, QC

Austin is a rural municipality on the western shore of Lake Memphrémagog in Quebec's Eastern Townships, roughly twenty minutes from Magog and half an hour from Sherbrooke. The community sits beside Lake Memphrémagog in a landscape of country roads, forests, hills, wetlands and heritage sites, including the nearby Abbaye Saint-Benoît-du-Lac. RV travellers use Austin as a quiet base for exploring the lake and the surrounding Eastern Townships, with several campgrounds reachable in a short drive. The closest options are private grounds in and around Austin, including Camping La Mine De Cuivre, Domaine Du Lac Libby, and Domaine Des Cantons Inc. The largest nearby public sites are inside Parc national du Mont-Orford, a Sépaq-administered provincial park north of Magog. The Lac Stukely sector campground offers serviced and unserviced sites, a registration centre, washrooms, showers, and a supervised beach. The Lac Fraser sector campground offers a mix of unserviced sites and partial-service pitches with electricity in a deciduous forest setting.

Sites inside Parc national du Mont-Orford, including Lac Stukely and Lac Fraser, are reserved through Sépaq, the Quebec provincial agency that runs the park. Mont-Orford campsites can be booked online via the Sépaq website. Reservations for the following summer season at Sépaq national parks open in early November, and creating an online account in advance speeds up the process. A two-night minimum applies for advance reservations, and one-night stays can only be booked up to 72 hours before arrival. Although called a national park, Mont-Orford is administered by Sépaq, so Parks Canada passes are not accepted; a park entry fee applies on top of the camping reservation. Private grounds such as Camping La Mine De Cuivre, Domaine Du Lac Libby and Domaine Des Cantons Inc. take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and summer weekends often fill weeks in advance.
