Campgrounds and RV parks near Dosquet, QC

The main draw is proximity to Quebec City and Lévis. From a campground on the south shore, RV travellers can drive to the Lévis ferry terminal and walk on for a car-free crossing to Old Quebec, avoiding narrow streets and paid parking. The Chutes de la Chaudière and the Parcours des Anses waterfront trail in Lévis are both short trips. Closer to Dosquet, the Route Verte cycling network passes through Lotbinière, and the St. Lawrence River villages of Lotbinière, Deschaillons, and Leclercville are within easy reach for river views, local cider, and maple-sugar shacks. Families often build a day around Village Vacances Valcartier north of Quebec City, the Aquarium du Québec, or Montmorency Falls. Camping Domaine De La Chute has its own lake and sandy beach for on-site swimming days.

The Quebec camping season is short and tightly defined by winter. Most private campgrounds in Chaudière-Appalaches open in early May and close around mid-October. Camping Domaine De La Chute, for example, operates on a season running from early May to around October 19. Outside that window, expect gates locked, water systems drained, and services shut off. Mid-July through early August is peak. Quebec's construction holiday, which begins on the second-last Sunday of July and runs for two weeks, empties Montreal and Quebec City into the campgrounds; sites at popular parks often fill weeks in advance and weekend two-night minimums are common. Book early for that window. Late May, June, and September are quieter and more comfortable for driving an RV. Blackflies and mosquitoes peak in late May and June near wooded and wetland sites. Fall colour typically peaks in the first half of October, and nights turn cold quickly after Labour Day, so a furnace-ready rig is useful for shoulder-season trips.

Expect French as the default language of service. Most campground staff along the Highway 20 corridor can handle basic English, especially at parks used to Quebec City tourist traffic, but signage, rules, and printed maps are usually French-only. A translation app is useful. Roads around Dosquet are rural two-lane routes with occasional frost heaves; Highway 20 itself is a divided freeway and easy driving for large rigs. Larger private parks such as Camping Bernieres and Camping Domaine De La Chute accept full-size RVs and offer full hookups, pools, laundry, and dump stations; smaller parks may have limited pull-throughs. Bring layers even in summer, propane for cool nights, and insect repellent. Firewood is generally sold on site, and importing outside wood is discouraged to limit invasive pests.
