Quebec City is roughly thirty to forty minutes by highway, putting Old Quebec, the Plains of Abraham, and the Lévis ferry within an easy day-trip from any campground around Frampton. Maple cabins, microbreweries, and rural cycling roads round out a typical stay.

Camping in the Frampton area is a warm-season activity. Most private campgrounds operate roughly mid-May through early or mid-October. Camping Parc de la Chaudière typically opens around mid-May and runs into mid-October, with low-season pricing before early June and after mid-September. Camping Lac-Etchemin opens the season around the May long weekend and offers low-season rates before early June and after mid-September. July and August are the busiest months, when summer festivals and family vacations fill weekends, and the Quebec construction holiday in late July sells out first. Late June and early September are the most comfortable windows for RV travel: warm days, cool nights, fewer biting insects, and easier reservations. Black flies and mosquitoes peak from late May into early July, so screen rooms and repellent matter. Fall colour typically peaks in late September and early October, but most campgrounds close shortly after Thanksgiving, and overnight frosts become common. Winter brings heavy snow; the region pivots to snowmobiling and cross-country skiing rather than RV camping.

Expect rural, French-first hospitality. Staff and signage are primarily in French, though most park offices around Quebec City and the Beauce handle English without trouble. Sites are generally level gravel or grass pads with picnic tables and fire rings; two- and three-service hookups are common, and dump stations are standard. Family parks feature heated pools, water slides, splash pads, and playgrounds. Cell coverage is reliable along Autoroute 73 and Route 277 but can thin on back roads near Frampton itself. Roads into smaller campgrounds can be narrow with tight turns, so longer rigs should confirm access. Quiet hours are enforced, dogs are usually welcome on leash, and campfires are permitted at most sites outside of provincial fire bans.
