Campgrounds and RV parks near Hébertville, QC

Hébertville sits at the southern end of Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec's Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, roughly 20 minutes south of Alma. The village was founded in 1849 and is recognised as the first settlement colonised in the Lac Saint-Jean area, named after the priest Nicolas-Tolentin Hébert. RV travellers use it as a base for circling the lake on Route 169 and the Véloroute des Bleuets cycling network. Most developed RV campgrounds in the area cluster along the lakeshore north and west of Hébertville. Complexe Touristique De La Dam-En-Terre, near Alma on the Grande Décharge, is the largest full-service resort within easy reach and sits directly on the Véloroute des Bleuets. Camping Belley and Coop Camping Chambord sit along the northern and southwestern shores of Lac-Saint-Jean, while Camping Mont Plaisant adds an inland option. Pointe Taillon Provincial Park, on the lake's north shore, is the regional draw for cyclists and rustic campers, with a long sandy peninsula jutting between Lac Saint-Jean and the Péribonka River.

A Parks Canada pass does not work here; a separate Sépaq access fee applies, available as a daily ticket or annual pass. Sépaq opens its summer camping reservations in early November for the following season, with Pointe-Taillon among the first parks released. Private campgrounds, including Complexe Touristique De La Dam-En-Terre, Camping Belley, Coop Camping Chambord and Camping Mont Plaisant, are booked directly through each operator. Dam-en-Terre typically opens camping reservations in mid-November for the following season. Lakefront and serviced pull-through sites go first, so book several months ahead for July weekends.
