Campgrounds and RV parks near Huberdeau, QC

The Rouge River shapes most outdoor activity around Huberdeau, with swimming beaches, paddling, and fishing from many of the riverside campgrounds. Cyclists ride sections of the Parc linéaire Le P'tit Train du Nord, the rail-trail that runs through the Laurentians and is accessible from the Mont-Tremblant area. Hikers and climbers head to the Parc d'Escalade et de Randonnée de la Montagne d'Argent in nearby La Conception for rock walls and forested trails. In the village, the Site patrimonial du Calvaire-d'Huberdeau offers a short climb to a hilltop with views over the Rouge Valley and Mont-Tremblant. The resort village of Mont-Tremblant, about a half hour away, adds restaurants, a casino, a gondola, and golf.

Camping season around Huberdeau is short and concentrated. Most private campgrounds in the area, including the larger Rouge River sites, open in mid-May and close in mid-October, with Camping Parc La Conception running on a May to mid-October schedule typical for the region. July and August are the busiest months, with warm river temperatures, festivals in Mont-Tremblant, and full-service sites that book well in advance for weekends. June can be cool and buggy, but it offers quieter sites and lower demand, and several operators promote shoulder-season rates before early June and after mid-September. Fall brings vivid foliage through late September and early October, drawing leaf-peepers up Route 117, after which most riverside campgrounds shut down for winter. From November through April, RV camping is effectively closed in the immediate area, although Mont-Tremblant remains active as a ski destination with lodging rather than campground stays.

Most RV sites in the Huberdeau area are wooded pull-ins or back-ins on rolling terrain near the Rouge River, with two- and three-service hookups widely available at the larger campgrounds. Camping de la Montagne d'Argent reports more than 300 sites including water, electric at 30 amp, and full-service pads, along with showers, a dump station, laundry, and a snack bar. Camping Parc La Conception offers a mix of full hookup, water-electric, and tent sites with beach access on the Rouge River. Cell service is generally workable but uneven once campers move off Route 117. The river runs with a current, so swimmers should follow posted advice at each beach. Black flies and mosquitoes peak in late spring.
