Campgrounds and RV parks near La Doré, QC

La Doré sits in the Domaine-du-Roy area on the western edge of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, surrounded by boreal forest and the Ashuapmushuan River corridor. RV travellers use it as a quiet base for exploring Lac Saint-Jean, the Véloroute des Bleuets cycling loop, and the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien about 30 minutes south. The closest serviced option is Camping Chute A Lours, a riverside site near Normandin with roughly 250 pitches across three-service, two-service, and unserviced loops, a heated pool, and direct access to the Véloroute des Bleuets and mountain-bike trails. Camping Mont Plaisant and Coop Camping Chambord serve travellers circling the south and east shores of the lake. Pointe Taillon Provincial Park, on the north shore near Saint-Henri-de-Taillon, offers rustic and ready-to-camp sites in a Sépaq-managed sand-point park with kilometres of beach. Camping Belley rounds out the cluster on the lake's north side. Most sites accommodate trailers and motorhomes, with full hookups concentrated at the private grounds.

Pointe Taillon Provincial Park is run by Sépaq, the Quebec provincial parks agency. Reservations for a given summer in Sépaq national parks open in early November of the preceding year through the Sépaq website or call centre, and a separate daily or annual park-access fee applies on top of the campsite charge. The Parks Canada Discovery Pass is not valid at Sépaq parks. Daily admission can only be bought up to 30 days in advance, but campsite bookings open earlier. Island sites such as Connelly Island, Beemer Island, and Petite île Verte must be booked by phone. Private campgrounds, including Camping Chute A Lours, Camping Mont Plaisant, Coop Camping Chambord, and Camping Belley, are booked directly through their own websites or by phone. Reserve weekends in July and August well in advance, and confirm length, hookup type, and slide-out clearance for any RV rental.
