Campgrounds and RV parks near Lac-Sergent, QC

Lac-Sergent is a small lakeside town in the MRC de Portneuf, situated in the foothills of the Laurentians about forty kilometres northwest of Quebec City. The municipality sits in the Capitale-Nationale region between Saint-Raymond and Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, and its identity is built around Lac Sergent itself, used for swimming, boating, and fishing. RV travellers typically use the area as a quieter base for exploring Portneuf and the Jacques-Cartier valley, which is roughly half an hour east. The immediate area offers a mix of private family campgrounds and large recreation parks. Camping Etsanha and Camping Panoramique sit closest to the lake, while Camping Valcartier and Valcartier Village Vacances are clustered near the Jacques-Cartier River in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, adjacent to the well-known water park. Camping Ville De Quebec, in Charlesbourg, provides the easiest access to downtown Quebec City. Together these options cover everything from quiet wooded sites to full-service resort camping with pools, beaches, and family programming.

Private campgrounds in the Lac-Sergent and Valcartier corridor, including Camping Etsanha, Camping Panoramique, Camping Valcartier, Valcartier Village Vacances, and Camping Ville De Quebec, take bookings directly through their own websites or by phone. Weekends in July and August fill early, and holiday weekends around Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Canada Day, and the late-July construction holiday should be reserved several months in advance. For public-land camping in the region, sites at Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier are booked through Sépaq, Quebec's provincial parks agency. Reservations are taken by phone at 1-800-665-6527 and online through the Sépaq reservation portal, with summer camping openings released in November of the prior year. A daily park access fee applies on top of the campsite fee at Sépaq parks.
