Campgrounds and RV parks near Mont-Carmel, QC

Mont-Carmel sits in the Kamouraska region of Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent, the largest municipality in Kamouraska at roughly 435 square kilometres, with a lake-dotted territory stretching from a hillside setting south to the United States border. The village lies inland from the St. Lawrence River, putting RV travellers within a short drive of riverside campgrounds along Route 132 and forested sites further south toward the Notre Dame Mountains. The closest established campground is Camping Riviere-Ouelle, set on the south shore of the St. Lawrence and known for sunset views over the estuary. Camping Le Rayon De Soleil and Camping De La Demi-Lieue serve travellers around Saint-Pascal and Rivière-du-Loup, while Camping Au Bonnet Rouge offers a quieter inland option. Camping Chutes Fraser sits across the river in La Malbaie in the Charlevoix region, reachable by the Rivière-du-Loup to Saint-Siméon ferry or by driving around through Quebec City. Most sites in the area support trailers and motorhomes with a mix of unserviced and full-hookup pitches.

Most campgrounds near Mont-Carmel take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and many are also listed on the Camping Québec network. Camping Riviere-Ouelle accepts online bookings and takes reservations year-round by phone, which is typical for the area. Sépaq's provincial parks and reserves, while not immediately adjacent, follow a different system: bookings open months in advance on the Sépaq site and the most popular sites for July and August fill quickly. For summer weekends, reserve eight to twelve weeks ahead, especially for sites with full hookups or pull-through access. Midweek and shoulder-season stays are usually available closer in. Confirm rig length limits before booking, as some inland sites have tight access roads, and check whether the park requires a credit card to hold the reservation.
