Campgrounds and RV parks near Montcerf-Lytton, QC

Montcerf-Lytton sits in the Outaouais region of western Quebec along Route 117, the main highway into Réserve faunique La Vérendrye. The village functions as a southern access point to one of the largest wildlife reserves in Quebec, a territory of roughly 12,589 square kilometres dotted with more than 4,000 lakes. Most camping options near Montcerf-Lytton are inside La Vérendrye, including Lac de la Vieille - La Verendrye Reserve and Lac Savary - La Verendrye Reserve, both operated by Sépaq with a mix of serviced and rustic sites on the water. Tarmigan Camping and Parc Leslie Campground offer additional options closer to town for travellers who prefer a smaller, more conventional setup. Roughly an hour and a half south, Lac Joinville - Papineau Labelle Reserve sits inside another Sépaq territory geared toward fishing and quiet shorelines. The area suits RV travellers looking for lakeside sites, paddling routes, and minimal crowds rather than full-service resort campgrounds.

Most named campgrounds in the area are run by Sépaq, the provincial agency that manages Quebec's wildlife reserves and parks. Reservations for Lac de la Vieille - La Verendrye Reserve, Lac Savary - La Verendrye Reserve, and Lac Joinville - Papineau Labelle Reserve are made through sepaq.com or by phone at 1-800-665-6527. Bookings for the upcoming season open in late winter, and lakefront sites for July and August can fill quickly after release. A daily access fee per adult applies on top of the campsite charge and is collected at the entrance or self-registration post. Tarmigan Camping and Parc Leslie Campground are booked directly with each operator. For the Sépaq reserves, drivers should rely on the routing instructions Sépaq provides rather than GPS apps, which often contain errors on the forest roads. Confirm RV length limits and electrical service when booking, since many sites are rustic.
