Campgrounds and RV parks near Notre-Dame-du-Portage, QC

Notre-Dame-du-Portage is a small resort village on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent region, roughly ten kilometres west of Rivière-du-Loup along Route 132. The area is a long-standing villégiature destination known for tidal beaches, a heated saltwater pool, and wide views across the estuary toward the Charlevoix coast. RV travellers use the village as a base for exploring the Lower St. Lawrence and the seasonal ferry route from Rivière-du-Loup to Saint-Siméon in Charlevoix. It also makes a logical stop en route to the Gaspésie or the Maritimes, with cycling along Route 132, whale-watching departures from Rivière-du-Loup, and access to the Parc côtier Kiskotuk nearby. Close-in options include Camping Le Rayon De Soleil and Camping Chez Jean near the village itself, with Camping Lido a short drive further along the shore. Travellers continuing toward the whale-watching coast often combine a stop here with Camping Bon-Desir or Camping Paradis Marin near Bergeronnes on the north shore.

Private campgrounds in the village, including Camping Le Rayon De Soleil, Camping Chez Jean, and Camping Lido, take reservations directly through their own websites and phone lines, typically opening winter bookings for the following summer. Riverfront and serviced pull-through sites should be booked several months ahead for July and August weekends. For nearby provincial parks, the SEPAQ network handles reservations centrally. SEPAQ opened reservations for camping and ready-to-camp units at its 23 national parks and tourist establishments for the 2026 season on November 8 and 9, 2025. Bookings can be made online or by telephone at 1 800 665-6527. A virtual waiting room is activated at opening, with priority ranks distributed randomly, after which a first-come, first-served principle applies.
