Campgrounds and RV parks near Price, QC

The St. Lawrence shoreline drives most of the activity. Parc national du Bic features capes, bays, coves, islands and mountains, with seabirds nesting on rocky capes and seals frequently seen near the shore. The park is the area's marquee destination for hiking, sea kayaking, and cycling, with bike rental and a visitors centre near the Rivière-du-Sud-Ouest campground. Inland, the Rimouski wildlife reserve is built around lakes and forest, with moose, white-tailed deer, beaver, and birds of prey in the area, plus canoe and kayak rentals on Lac Rimouski. The Matane area adds salmon fishing on the Rivière Matane and access to the International Appalachian Trail. Families often combine a Bic day visit with beach time at a private riverside campground, and Métis-sur-Mer is home to the well-known Reford Gardens.

The camping season in this part of Quebec is short and concentrated. Private campgrounds along the coast generally open in mid-to-late May and close by mid-October. Camping Annie at Métis-sur-Mer typically runs from mid-May through mid-October, while Camping De La Riviere Matane operates on a shorter window, roughly mid-June to late September. Parc national du Bic operates its main campgrounds from late spring through mid-October, and the park itself is accessible year-round, with winter camping available in the Porc-Épic sector. July and August are the peak months: warmest weather, longest days, and the highest demand for serviced RV sites. June and September are quieter, cooler, and better for travellers who want availability without booking far ahead. Spring shoulder weeks can be wet and buggy, and fall brings strong colour along the river but rapidly dropping overnight temperatures. October is typically the wettest month of the year along this stretch of the St. Lawrence.

Expect a mix of forested inland sites and open riverside sites with St. Lawrence views. The Rivière-du-Sud-Ouest sector at Parc national du Bic offers nearly 135 campsites in semi-serviced, single-service and two-service configurations, plus additional sites in the Rioux sector and ready-to-camp tents. Camping De La Riviere Matane features roughly 120 spacious sites along the Matane River, with privileged river access and a swimming beach. Camping Annie is a larger family-oriented site with a heated pool, playground, and full and partial hook-ups. Cell coverage is generally good along Route 132 but drops inside the wildlife reserves and on forest roads. French is the working language at most sites, though staff at tourist-oriented campgrounds usually speak some English. Black flies and mosquitoes are heaviest in June.
