Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Basile-Sud, QC

Saint-Basile-Sud sits in the Portneuf Regional County Municipality on the north shore of the St. Lawrence, roughly 35 minutes west of Quebec City. The area combines farmland, maple stands, and the Jacques-Cartier and Portneuf rivers, which makes it a practical base for RV travellers who want quiet rural sites within easy reach of city attractions. Camping Panoramique is a Portneuf-area resort campground about a half hour from Quebec City and a common full-service option for travellers passing through. Heading inland toward the Bras-du-Nord valley near Saint-Raymond, Camping Etsanha sits along the Bras-du-Nord river with a long sandy beach. Farther afield, Camping Valcartier offers more than 550 sites for tents, trailers and RVs next to the Village Vacances Valcartier waterpark, Camping Lac Georges is a large family resort with a beach and on-site pools, and Camping Cap A La Roche sits on the south shore of the St. Lawrence with river views and 173 sites. Together these properties cover everything from rustic riverside sites to large family resorts.

Most Portneuf-area campgrounds take direct online or phone reservations through their own websites rather than a central provincial system. Camping Valcartier handles bookings directly through Village Vacances Valcartier, and Camping Cap A La Roche, Camping Panoramique, and Camping Lac Georges each reserve through their own operator sites. Bras-du-Nord properties, including Camping Etsanha, are coordinated through the Vallée Bras-du-Nord reservations office. Cancellation terms at Vallée Bras-du-Nord vary by lead time: within 7 days no refund or transfer, 7 to 14 days a 30 percent non-refundable charge with date changes allowed, 15 days or more a full refund, and a credit card is held at check-in as a security deposit. Book serviced RV sites for July and August several months ahead, especially around holiday weekends.
