Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Camille, QC

The village itself anchors several low-key activities. Saint-Camille has a family walking path and local nature trails, and Le P'tit Bonheur, the cultural and community centre housed in a former general store, runs a performance hall, art gallery, and rural interpretation space. The surrounding Townships add hiking, cycling, and food touring. Regional cycling routes link villages and farms, with circuits highlighting local gastronomy. Vineyards anchor two wine routes, and the region hosts a strong concentration of microbreweries and artisan cheesemakers. Day trips reach Mont-Mégantic for stargazing at its dark-sky reserve, Mont-Orford for hiking and lake swimming, and Lake Massawippi for paddling. Fall foliage is a major draw across all of Estrie.

The practical RV camping season in this part of Quebec runs from mid-May through mid-October. Private campgrounds typically open around the Victoria Day long weekend in late May and close after Thanksgiving in mid-October, driven by frost dates. The average date for the last frost in spring is May 28, frost normally returns on September 17, and the frost-free period extends for 111 days on average between the final spring frost and the first fall frost. July and August are peak season: warm days, the busiest weekends, and the highest demand for waterfront and serviced sites. June is wetter but quieter. September brings cool nights, low bug pressure, and the start of fall colours, which peak in early to mid-October across the Townships. From October to April, Sherbrooke can remain below freezing all day long, and the city typically has 79 days a year when the temperature never rises above 0 °C. Winter RV camping is not practical at most local private campgrounds; water and dump services are shut off well before the first hard freeze.

Expect rural, francophone country. Most signage, campground staff, and local services operate primarily in French; basic French phrases help, though many tourist-facing operators in the Townships are bilingual. Roads into the area are paved provincial routes with rolling terrain and tight village centres, so larger Class A rigs should plan routes carefully. Campground amenities vary widely. Private campgrounds in the area typically offer a mix of unserviced tent sites and serviced RV pads with electricity, water, and in many cases sewer, plus shared washrooms, showers, and a dump station. Sépaq park campgrounds lean more rustic, with electric-only or no services at many sites. Cell coverage is reliable near villages and main roads but spotty in forested terrain. Black flies and mosquitoes peak in late May and June; bring repellent.
