Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Cyrille-de-Lessard, QC

The St. Lawrence shoreline is the main draw. Cycling on La Route Verte runs through Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and Montmagny, with riverside views along the way. Families base out of Camping De La Demi-Lieue or Camping Pointe Aux Oies for heated pools, water games, playgrounds, and river sunsets. From Montmagny, seasonal cruises reach Grosse-Île and the Irish Memorial National Historic Site and the L'Isle-aux-Grues archipelago. Saint-Jean-Port-Joli is known for wood carving and has galleries, a maritime museum, and a small marina. Inland, the Parc régional des Appalaches offers hiking, paddling, and wildlife viewing. Birdwatchers visit Montmagny in fall for the snow-goose migration, marked each year by the Festival de l'Oie Blanche.

Camping in this part of Quebec is firmly a warm-season activity. Most campgrounds in the Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and Montmagny corridor open in mid-May and close in mid-October. Camping Au Bonnet Rouge typically opens in mid-May and closes in late September. Camping De La Demi-Lieue runs from mid-May into mid-October, and Camping Pointe Aux Oies follows a similar mid-May to mid-October window. Camping Leclerc on L'Isle-aux-Coudres operates on a comparable schedule. Camping Municipal Lac Frontiere runs a summer season inland in the Appalaches. July and August are peak. Waterfront sites along the St. Lawrence sell out for long weekends well in advance, and the Festival de l'Oie Blanche in Montmagny pulls extra traffic in fall. June and early September offer thinner crowds and cooler nights, useful for cyclists touring Route Verte. Spring openings can be cold and damp, with river fog common. Winter brings deep snow, hard freezes, and full closure of these campgrounds; RV travel through the region in winter is limited to highway stops, not overnight camping.

Expect French as the first language at front desks and on signage, though most riverside campgrounds in Chaudière-Appalaches handle bilingual guests. Sites along the St. Lawrence tend to be open or semi-shaded, with picnic tables, fire rings, and a mix of zero-, two-, and three-service hookups; 30-amp service is standard. Larger family parks like Camping De La Demi-Lieue and Camping Pointe Aux Oies include heated pools, water games, playgrounds, laundry, and community rooms. Camping Au Bonnet Rouge is smaller and semi-wooded, walking distance to Saint-Jean-Port-Joli's shops and marina. Camping Leclerc sits along the Isle-aux-Coudres shore with cabins on site. Camping Municipal Lac Frontiere is rustic and forested, with limited services. Cell coverage and Wi-Fi can be patchy on waterfront sites.
