Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Éphrem-de-Tring, QC

Grand Lac Saint-François anchors most activities, with sandy shores, paddling, and fishing along its bays. Parc national de Frontenac maintains hiking and cycling trails, family games, beach volleyball, picnic areas, and on-site boat rentals at the Saint-Daniel sector. The park supports more than 200 species of birds, 30 species of mammals, a thousand-year-old bog, and rare plants such as the arrow Arum, making it a strong pick for nature-focused families. Canoe-camping routes leave from Baie Sauvage, Lac des Îles, and Lac à la Barbue. A floating platform on Baie Sauvage is open for stargazing, and the park is in the process of becoming Quebec's second international dark-sky park. The surrounding Beauce region also offers cycling routes and small-town stops along the Chaudière River.

Parc national de Frontenac is accessible year-round, but the camping season is short and tightly defined by Sépaq. The Saint-Daniel sector, including Baie aux Rats Musques, typically operates from mid-May to mid-October, while the Southern sector with Baie Sauvage runs from mid-May to late October. Outside these dates, the welcome centres close and no services are available on site; visitors are responsible for their own safety. Access roads close in late October, and hikers with valid permits must park outside the gates during the closed season. July and August are the busiest weeks, with warm days and the most stable weather for swimming and paddling. June and September are quieter and suit RV travellers who want cooler nights and fewer mosquitoes. Spring brings mud, black flies, and lingering snow on shaded trails. Roads within the park leading to activities and services are gravel, so plan tire and clearance accordingly. Winter offers self-reliant snowshoeing and skiing with no on-site staff.

Expect a rural lake-and-forest setting with gravel access roads inside Parc national de Frontenac and a mix of treed and semi-open sites. The Saint-Daniel sector is organized into three loops with serviced and unserviced sites, plus ready-to-camp units for renters arriving without gear. The two main sectors are about an hour apart by provincial highway with no internal road linking them, so day-tripping between them takes planning. Cell coverage is patchy in the backcountry. Grand Lac Saint-François can get windy and carries motorized boat traffic, so paddlers should check conditions before launching. Level 2 EV charging is available at the Southern and Saint-Daniel visitor centres during the park's operating season. Outside the village of Saint-Éphrem-de-Tring, basic groceries, fuel, and supplies are easiest to source in Thetford Mines or along the Beauce corridor before heading into the park.
