Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Félix-d'Otis, QC

The fjord is the main draw. From Baie Eternite - Saguanay Provincial Park, visitors can hike to fjord viewpoints, paddle the bay, or join sea-kayak and Zodiac excursions, with a via ferrata circuit on the cliffs above Baie Éternité. At Haute Gorges de la Riviere Malbaie, the network includes the Acropole-des-Draveurs trail with its breathtaking view, the Riverain trail lookouts, and Des Rapides along the river. At Lac Athrabaska - Grande Jardins Provincial Park, more than 30 km of trails cross taiga, tundra, deciduous and boreal forest, with Mont du Lac-des-Cygnes offering a view of the Charlevoix meteorite crater and Vallée du Gros-Bras. Closer to the village, Lac Otis is used for swimming and small-boat paddling, and the Site de la Nouvelle-France is a short drive away.

The camping season in this part of Quebec is short and concentrated in late spring through early fall. The Baie-Éternité campground in Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay typically operates from mid-May through mid-October, and the front-country campgrounds at Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie run on a similar mid-May to mid-October window. At Parc national des Grands-Jardins, the camping period generally runs mid-May to mid-October depending on the sector, subject to change without notice. Shoulder seasons matter for RV planning. Sites in the Arthabaska sector of Grands-Jardins are offered as rustic camping at the start and end of the summer season, with sanitary services and water points unavailable and only dry toilets provided, so campers must bring their own water. Winter camping is authorized at Le Pin-Blanc and L'Équerre in Hautes-Gorges, accessible only on snowshoes or backcountry skis, so RVs are limited to the summer months. July and August are peak; black-fly pressure is heaviest in June, and fall colour in Charlevoix typically peaks in late September.

Expect a mix of serviced and rustic camping. Baie Eternite - Saguanay Provincial Park has sites with and without services plus seven Huttopia ready-to-camp tents, suitable for tents and most RVs. Le Cran at Haute Gorges de la Riviere Malbaie offers 75 semi-serviced campsites and 19 sites with electricity that can accommodate all types of equipment. Arthabaska at Lac Athrabaska - Grande Jardins Provincial Park sits on the shore of Lac Arthabaska in the heart of the park, with wide open sky. Sites in Charlevoix and along the fjord are often forested and narrow, so larger rigs should check site dimensions before booking. Cell coverage drops once inside the parks. Bring water containers for rustic-only periods, insect repellent, and warm layers for cool nights even in midsummer.
