Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski, QC

Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski is a small municipality in the La Mitis area of Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent region, inland from the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. Most RV travellers use it as a quiet base between the river and the Matapédia Valley, with Rimouski about a half-hour drive north and Matane roughly an hour east along Route 132. The surrounding area mixes private commercial campgrounds with two large Sépaq properties. Camping Annie sits near the gateway to the Gaspé Peninsula, close to Mont-Joli and the Jardins de Métis. Lac Rimouski, inside Réserve faunique de Rimouski, offers waterfront sites along Lac Rimouski reached by a long forest road south of the city. Bic Provincial Park, west of Rimouski along the river, spreads its camping across four sectors: Rivière-du-Sud-Ouest, Rioux, Tombolo, and La Coulée. Camping De La Mer puts travellers near the St. Lawrence shoreline, while Camping De La Riviere Matane provides a wooded riverside option close to downtown Matane.

Bic Provincial Park and Lac Rimouski in Réserve faunique de Rimouski are both managed by Sépaq, the Quebec provincial network. Sites are booked through the Sépaq reservation system online or by phone, and a daily park access fee applies on top of the camping rate at national parks like Bic. Sépaq opens summer camping reservations roughly six to seven months ahead, in early November, and serviced RV sites at Bic's Rivière-du-Sud-Ouest and Tombolo sectors sell out earliest for July and August weekends. Camping De La Riviere Matane, Camping Annie, Camping De La Mer, and other private campgrounds take direct reservations by phone or through their own websites. Confirm site length and hookup type before booking, since some Lac Rimouski sites are reached by a long gravel forest road.
