Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Honoré, Quebec, QC

Hiking and paddling drive most itineraries. Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay anchors the area, with a network of over 100 km of trails offering coastal and mountain landscapes on both shores of the fjord, plus rustic campsites and lean-tos for kayak campers and backpackers. The Baie-Éternité sector serves as the main road-accessible trailhead and Discovery and Visitors Centre. North of town, Parc national des Monts-Valin protects a high country of ancient mountains and lakes, with summit hikes and canoe routes. Families based at Dam-en-Terre can use the on-site beach, wading pool, mini-putt, pedal boats, kayak rentals and cruises on Lac Saint-Jean, with nearby festivals, museums, gardens and cheese dairies. The Véloroute des Bleuets passes directly through the resort for cyclists. In Saint-Honoré itself, the local microbrewery is a common stop on the way back from a day on the trails.

The practical camping season runs from mid-May through mid-October. Sépaq sites at Baie-Éternité in Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay operate roughly from May 15 to October 11, covering the main reservable inventory of sites with and without services and the seven Huttopia ready-to-camp tents. Private sites tend to operate a shorter summer-only window: Camping Plage Margot generally runs from late May to early September, and Dam-en-Terre opens its camping for the summer while the resort itself stays open year-round for cottages and other accommodations. July and August are the busiest weeks; popular Sépaq sites and waterfront private sites fill quickly once summer reservations open. Spring brings black flies and mosquitoes, peaking from late May through June. Autumn is cool with strong fall colours through late September. Winter shuts down most campgrounds, though Dam-en-Terre operates as a four-season resort with ice trails, sliding, snowshoeing and skating in the snowy months.

Expect a French-first region. Staff at most campgrounds speak some English, but signage, reservation portals and park materials are primarily in French. Cell coverage is solid in Saint-Honoré and along Route 172, but drops inside the fjord park and the Monts-Valin backcountry. Sites at Sépaq's Baie-Éternité sector are forested and offer 15/20-amp electrical service on the two-service loops; larger motorhomes should verify length and clearance per site before booking. Private sites near Saint-Honoré tend to be more open, with electrical hookups, beach access and family programming. Wildlife is part of the package: moose, black bear and beaver are present in the surrounding forest, so food storage rules apply. Bring bug protection from late May through early July, and pack layers even in midsummer, as fjord-side evenings cool down quickly.
