Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Malachie, QC

Saint-Malachie is a small village in the Bellechasse Regional County Municipality of Quebec's Chaudiere-Appalaches region, roughly an hour south of Quebec City by Route 277. The Etchemin River runs through the municipality, and the surrounding countryside is rolling farmland, mixed forest, and small lakes on the western edge of the Appalachian foothills, making it a practical base for RV travellers exploring the Beauce, the Etchemins, and the south shore of the St. Lawrence. Campgrounds in the area are almost all privately operated and family focused rather than large park-service sites. Camping Lac-Etchemin, located in Les Etchemins in the Chaudiere-Appalaches region, offers a swimming pool, spa, water games, wireless Internet, games module, petanque, hiking, and fishing on site. Other nearby options include Camping Parc De La Chaudiere, Camping Le Domaine Champetre, Camping La Roche Dor, and Camping Transit, each catering to trailers, motorhomes, and tents. Most visitors combine campground stays with day trips to Quebec City, the Beauce valley, and regional lakes and trails.

The campgrounds in this area are privately run, so reservations go through each operator directly rather than a central park-service system like SEPAQ or Parks Canada. Most, including Camping Lac-Etchemin, use an online booking form on their own website, with phone reservations as a backup. Online reservations at Camping Lac-Etchemin open on November 1 for the following season, and pull-through sites suitable for larger RVs are limited to specific numbered pitches. Because pull-through inventory is small at most sites, RV renters with longer rigs should book early and confirm site length and hookup type by phone. Weekend reservations generally require a two-night minimum, and a deposit is typically taken at booking with the balance due on arrival.
