Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Pascal, QC

The Cabouron Trail and the legend-shrouded Père Coton Mountain reward hikers with broad views of the plains, the village, and the St. Lawrence shoreline. The Parc des Sept-Chutes trail follows a series of falls on the Kamouraska River and works well as a half-day outing with kids. On Sundays in summer, the public market at Place de l'Expo brings local producers into the centre of town, and the Bonjour la Visite festival runs family programming in August. The village of Kamouraska, just down the road, is known for its sunsets over the river, salt-marsh birdwatching, and waterfront cycling along Route Verte segments. Whale-watching excursions out of Rivière-du-Loup are within easy day-trip range.

The private campgrounds around Saint-Pascal follow a standard Quebec south-shore season. Camping Rivière-Ouelle, for example, operates from early May to mid-October, and similar opening windows apply at most nearby grounds, with Camping Le Rayon de Soleil running from mid-May to early October. Outside this window, services such as water, electrical hookups, and sanitary blocks are typically shut down for freeze protection. July and August are peak months, with warm days, comfortable evenings, and the full slate of family programming. Sites with full services, riverside views, and pull-through access fill earliest, especially around the Quebec construction holiday in late July and the August long weekend. June can be cool and buggy, with blackflies and mosquitoes most active near wooded and wetland sites. September brings cooler nights, fewer crowds, and strong fall colours along the river bluffs, though some amenities scale back before the October closing dates. Winter camping is not a feature of this area, and most operators close entirely from late autumn through April.

Campgrounds in this corner of Bas-Saint-Laurent skew toward family-run, mid-sized grounds with a mix of tent sites, two- and three-service RV pads, and a small number of ready-to-camp or cabin units. Camping Rivière-Ouelle, the largest in the immediate area, has roughly 250 sites including 70 with water and electricity, 150 with full three-service hookups, and 30- and 50-amp electrical with pull-through pads available. Camping Le Rayon de Soleil offers around 120 to 185 sites including pull-throughs, full hookups, and tent loops with 15, 30, and 50 amp service. Typical amenities include heated pools, playgrounds, washrooms with showers, laundry, and small canteens or convenience stores. Cell coverage is generally reliable along the Route 132 corridor; Wi-Fi quality varies by site. Staff and on-site signage are primarily in French, though English is widely understood at the front desk.
