Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Philippe-de-Néri, QC

The area is built around the river, farmland, and back-country trails. Cycling on the rural roads of the Kamouraska MRC and along Route 132 is a major draw, and the network connects west to Rivière-Ouelle and east toward Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. Walking the heritage core of nearby villages, birdwatching in the salt marshes, and visiting the artisan studios of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli are common day activities. Families staying at Camping Riviere-Ouelle can walk to the river shore, renowned in the region for sunset views over the St. Lawrence. Guests at Camping Au Bonnet Rouge are within walking distance of the local marina, Parc des Trois-Bérets, shops, restaurants, and a microbrewery. Day trips reach Kamouraska village, the SEBKA salt-marsh reserve, and the cliffs and waterfalls of Charlevoix across the river by ferry.

From November through April, virtually all private campgrounds are closed and the region transitions into snow cover used mainly for cross-country skiing, not RV camping. Book well ahead for any weekend in July or August, and for the Labour Day and Canadian Thanksgiving long weekends.

Campgrounds in this corridor are family-oriented and generally well equipped for RVs. Camping Rivière-Ouelle has 251 sites, including 150 with three services and 70 with water and electricity, plus 30-amp and 50-amp electrical and pull-through options. Camping De La Demi-Lieue offers a heated pool, paddling pool, inflatable games, trampoline, indoor children's area, tennis courts, playgrounds, a minifarm, and a snack bar. Camping Au Bonnet Rouge has 71 semi-wooded sites, a heated pool, a spa, and a community hall, with traveller sites ranging from zero to three services. Expect mosquitos near wooded sites in early summer and cool evenings near the river even in July. Cell coverage and Wi-Fi can be weak at some riverside sites.
