Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets, QC

The village sits on a cliff above the St. Lawrence, and the parish presbytery overlook is a common picnic stop with parking, shelter, and tables. A riverside park (parc fluvial) offers walking along the water, and the area is known for market gardening, including the locally celebrated Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets tomato. The historic walking circuit through the village passes the parish church and other heritage buildings. Across the river, Camping Parc De La Peninsule operates a water park with one of the highest waterslides in the Mauricie region, an artificial lake with beach, water games, a picnic area, and volleyball courts. Paddling on the Batiscan River, cycling along Route 132, and day trips to Trois-Rivières fill out a typical itinerary.

The camping window in this part of Quebec is narrow. Most private campgrounds along the St. Lawrence and Batiscan corridor open in early to mid-May and close in mid to late October. Camping Cap A La Roche typically operates from around May 10 to mid or late October, and Camping Parc De La Peninsule opens its season in early to mid-May with online site reservations released months in advance and cabin reservations opening separately by phone. July and August are the peak family-camping months, with warm days, river activities at full operation, and the highest demand for waterfront sites. June can be wet and buggy but quieter, while early September brings cooler nights and lower occupancy before fall colours peak in late September and early October. Winter is deep freeze with heavy snow cover; most riverside campgrounds are fully closed, and only a small number of operators in the Mauricie region offer four-season camping. Shoulder-season RVers should confirm hookup availability, as water service is typically shut off outside the main season.

Most parks in this area are family-run and operate primarily in French, though staff at larger campgrounds such as Camping Parc De La Peninsule and Camping Cap A La Roche commonly serve English-speaking visitors. Expect grassy or treed sites, 30 and 50-amp electrical service at the more developed parks, and shared washroom and shower blocks. Paid showers, on-site convenience stores, firewood sales, laundry, and dump stations are typical at the larger campgrounds. Riverside sites along the St. Lawrence offer wide views and sunsets but can be exposed to wind. Cell coverage is generally good along Route 132 but can be patchy inland. Quiet hours, leash rules, and limits on visitors are enforced, and campfires are usually permitted at the site subject to local fire bans.
