Campgrounds and RV parks near Saint-Thomas-Didyme, QC

Saint-Thomas-Didyme is a small municipality in the Maria-Chapdelaine RCM, in Quebec's Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, north of the Lac Saint-Jean basin and within reach of the Ashuapmushuan River corridor. The area sits in working forest country with rivers, lakes, and quiet rural roads, and most RV travellers use it as a base for fishing, paddling, cycling the Véloroute des Bleuets, and exploring the wider Lac Saint-Jean shoreline. Nearby campgrounds range from family-oriented private parks to provincially managed sites. Camping Chute A Lours and Camping Mont Plaisant offer RV sites close to local attractions, while Coop Camping Chambord sits on the south shore of Lac Saint-Jean. Pointe Taillon Provincial Park, operated by Sépaq on the north shore, draws cyclists and beachgoers. Further north, Lac Chigoubiche in the Ashuapmushuan Reserve provides remote, lake-access camping deeper in the wildlife reserve. Together these options cover everything from full-service family stays to rustic backcountry trips.

Sépaq sites at Pointe Taillon Provincial Park and Lac Chigoubiche in the Ashuapmushuan Reserve are reserved through the Sépaq online system or by phone. Island sites at Pointe Taillon, such as those reached only by water or shuttle from Péribonka, are also booked through Sépaq. A separate park access fee applies on top of the campsite, since Sépaq parks do not honour the Parks Canada pass. Private parks including Camping Chute A Lours, Camping Mont Plaisant, and Coop Camping Chambord take reservations on their own websites or by phone, and many list through Camping Québec. For July and August weekends, book serviced RV sites several weeks in advance. Shoulder-season weekdays are usually available on shorter notice.
