Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière, QC

The Parc de la Chute Sainte-Agathe is the area's headline attraction. Visitors can walk short hiking trails, cross a suspension footbridge over the Palmer River, swim at a landscaped beach, and try guided canyoning on the falls. A seasonal restaurant and beach bar operate in summer, and the park hosts outdoor shows and events. Further afield, RV travellers use Sainte-Agathe as a launch point for day trips to Quebec City, the Lévis ferry, the Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, and Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier north of the capital. The Lotbinière back roads pass covered bridges, sugar shacks, and small museums. Cycling routes through Lotbinière draw road riders, and the Bécancour River basin offers fishing and paddling.

The camping season in this part of Quebec is short and weather-driven. Most private campgrounds in and around Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière open in late May and close in mid-October; the Parc de la Chute Sainte-Agathe campground, for example, operates roughly from late May through mid-October. Outside that window, RV sites with services are scarce because freezing temperatures, snowpack, and closed water systems make full-hookup camping impractical. Late June through August is peak season. Quebec construction-holiday weeks in late July and early August fill private campgrounds first, and Quebec City KOA Holiday and other named sites near the capital typically book out weeks ahead for that window. September brings cooler nights, fewer bugs, and strong fall colour through the Appalachian foothills, often into early October. May and early June can be wet, with high water on the Palmer River and active blackfly and mosquito periods. Winter camping is offered at only a few specialized sites in the broader region.

Expect a mix of rustic and serviced sites. Several local campgrounds, including the Parc de la Chute Sainte-Agathe campground, are small and lean rustic, with shared 15 and 30 amp electrical boxes rather than per-site pedestals and limited room for larger rigs (about 32 feet and under). Confirm length and hookup type when booking; some access roads pass a covered bridge with a 3.1 metre height limit, so detours may be required for taller RVs and trailers. Quebec City KOA Holiday is the most predictable choice for renters who want pull-through sites, 30 or 50 amp service, dump stations, Wi-Fi, and laundry. French is the working language at most private campgrounds, though staff at tourism-oriented sites generally speak some English. Bring insect repellent in early summer, and buy firewood locally rather than transporting it, in line with provincial rules aimed at preventing tree pests.
