Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Eulalie, QC

Day trips fan out in every direction. North of the autoroute, Nicolet offers the Musée des religions du monde, the Maison Rodolphe-Duguay, and the Parc écologique de l'Anse du Port, with the Lac Saint-Pierre Biosphere Reserve immediately beyond. Trois-Rivières, across the Laviolette Bridge, adds the Musée québécois de culture populaire, the Vieille Prison, and a riverfront promenade. South, Drummondville is home to the Village Québécois d'Antan and large summer festivals. Closer in, Sainte-Eulalie's alpaca farm Alpagas Fibrefine takes visitors by appointment, and antique shops and farm stands line the rural roads. On the water, Lac Saint-Pierre supports swimming, kayaking, sailing, and freshwater fishing, and the St. Lawrence shoreline near Deschaillons is known for sunsets and ship-watching.

Most private campgrounds in this corridor operate on a tight summer window. Camping Port St Francois typically opens in early May and closes in mid-October, while Camping Lac Des Cypres runs from May 1 to September 30, and Camping La Detente operates through the warm-weather months. Outside that window, sites are closed and water systems are winterized, so winter RV travel through Sainte-Eulalie generally means highway stops rather than overnight camping. July and August are the busiest months. Waterfront and beach-side sites at Port St Francois, Cap A La Roche, and Lac Des Cypres book up well ahead for weekends, Saint-Jean-Baptiste (June 24), and Canada Day (July 1). Late May and June bring black flies and mosquitoes inland, especially around wooded lake parks. September is quieter, with cooler nights, fewer bugs, and shoulder-season promotions at many Camping Québec member parks. The first hard frost typically returns by late September, which marks the practical end of comfortable tent and pop-up camping in the region.

Roads in the area are good. Autoroute 20 runs directly past Sainte-Eulalie and connects to Autoroute 55 toward Trois-Rivières and the Laviolette Bridge, so larger rigs reach most campgrounds on paved routes. Interior roads at parks like Camping Port St Francois are a mix of gravel and packed surfaces but generally well-kept. Sites are usually pull-through or back-in with two or three services and 30-amp electrical; some larger parks also offer 50-amp. French is the working language at most campgrounds and small-town businesses, though staff at the larger parks typically speak some English. Grocery stores, fuel, and propane refills are easiest in Nicolet, Drummondville, or Trois-Rivières rather than in Sainte-Eulalie itself. Cell coverage is reliable along the autoroute and weaker on some inland lake roads.
