Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Luce, QC

The St. Lawrence shoreline is the main draw: low-tide beach walks, seal watching and sunset viewing from the village promenade. At Parc national du Bic, activities include seal watching, hiking along the water, sea kayaking at sunset, biking and geocaching. The Pic Champlain trail delivers a panoramic view of the estuary and its islets, the rocky outcrops at Cap à l'Orignal are accessible at low tide, and the Ferme Rioux Discovery and Visitors Centre serves as a hub for discovery activities and trail access, with guided sea kayaking offered through Sépaq's partner Aventures Archipel. Inland, the Réserve faunique de Rimouski offers fishing, paddling and hiking on quieter lakes. Rimouski itself adds groceries, fuel, a submarine museum and the Pointe-au-Père lighthouse site.

The camping season is short and well-defined. Parc national du Bic's main campgrounds operate from mid-May to mid-October, and most private campgrounds in the area follow a similar window. Private operators along the shore typically open in late May and close in late September or early October once overnight temperatures drop. Summer is peak season. Bic is one of the few waterfront camping destinations in Quebec, so sites fill quickly, especially during Quebec's construction holiday in the last week of July and first week of August. Spring brings cold nights, lingering snow inland, and high water on rivers. Fall is quieter, with strong colour in late September; expect chilly evenings and the first frosts by mid-October. Bic National Park itself is open year-round, but services are reduced in winter and standard camping runs from mid-May to mid-October, with a small number of winter campsites available in the Porc-Épic sector accessible by snowshoe, ski, fat bike or on foot.

Shoreline sites along the estuary are exposed to onshore winds and cool, damp air, even on warm summer afternoons. Bring layers and secure awnings. At Parc national du Bic, the sectors differ significantly. Rivière-du-Sud-Ouest holds roughly 135 sites with a mix of serviced and unserviced options, sits near the main visitors centre with a shop, bike rental and trail access, and is located near Route 132. Rioux offers 41 sites with and without services in the centre of the park near the Ferme Rioux centre, with direct trail access. Tombolo lies between Baie du Ha! Ha! and another small bay, with mostly electric-only sites. La Coulée is rustic and accessible only on foot, by bike or by kayak. Daily park entry is charged per adult on top of nightly camping, and dogs are allowed only in designated areas.
