Campgrounds and RV parks near Sainte-Sophie-d'Halifax, QC

Sainte-Sophie-d'Halifax sits in the L'Érable RCM in Quebec's Centre-du-Québec region, roughly 195 km from Montreal and 108 km from Quebec City. The area is rural, with rolling farmland, woodlots and small lakes feeding the local camping scene. Most RV options cluster around Plessisville, just northwest of the village, and along the corridor toward Princeville and Victoriaville. Camping Mon Plaisir, on Route de Sainte-Sophie in Plessisville, runs 191 sites with a mix of one-, two- and three-service hookups, plus cabins and ready-to-camp trailers, and accepts recreational vehicles over 35 feet. It is the closest full-service park and the practical anchor for RV trips in the area. Camping Lac Georges in Val-Alain, just off Autoroute 20, is a larger resort with around 800 sites, most with two or three services. Other options on the corridor include Camping Soleil Inc, Camping Lac Des Cypres at Sainte-Séraphine, and Camping Beau-Soleil. Together they cover full-hookup family resorts and smaller lakeside grounds suited to shorter stays.

Private campgrounds in this corridor are booked directly with each operator, not through a central reservation system. Camping Mon Plaisir takes reservations online through its own site or by phone, with separate inventories for traveler sites, seasonal sites, cabins and trailer rentals. Camping Lac Georges traditionally opens summer reservations by phone on March 1, and busy summer weekends often require a two-night minimum. Camping Lac Des Cyprès and the smaller parks take bookings by phone or email through their own sites. For longer trips that combine private parks with a Quebec national park, Sépaq operates a separate online platform covering camping, ready-to-camp and cabins across its network. Booking eight to twelve weeks ahead is recommended for July and August stays, and earlier still for waterfront or three-service RV sites.
