Campgrounds and RV parks near Tingwick, QC

Outdoor activity in the region centres on the lakes, rivers, and Appalachian foothills. Mount Gleason has a downhill ski centre that doubles as a hiking and mountain biking hill outside winter. The Rivière des Rosiers and Rivière des Pins are usable for paddling and trout fishing in season. On the lakes, Grand Lac Brompton offers 12 kilometres of navigable water for pedal-boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, boating, and sunbathing, with rentals available at Camping Plage Mckenzie. Camping Lac Des Cypres has a beach with a waterslide, inflatable water games, kayaks, pedal boats, and a giant trampoline for day use or extended stays. Families often combine a campground stay with visits to nearby sugar shacks, the Parc de la Rivière Bourbon walking trails near Plessisville, and the larger town of Victoriaville for groceries and services.

The Quebec camping season is short and well defined. Most privately run sites open in early May and close between early September and early October. Camping Lac Des Cypres operates from May through the start of October, Camping Mon Plaisir runs from early May to early September, and Camping Plage Mckenzie runs from early May to late September. Shoulder weeks in May and early June, plus the period after Labour Day in September, tend to have cooler nights, fewer mosquitoes, and easier site availability. July and August are peak season. The Quebec construction holiday at the end of July drives heavy demand across the province, and weekends from Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 24 through Labour Day weekend book up first. Black flies peak in late May and early June; mosquitoes persist into July near wetlands and rivers. Fall colour in the Eastern Townships hardwoods typically peaks late September into mid-October, but most campgrounds have closed by then. Winter brings deep snow and sub-freezing temperatures across the region, with RV operations limited to a small number of four-season parks.

Expect bilingual service, with French as the working language at most reception desks. Family-oriented private parks dominate the region: pools, splash pads, beaches, mini-golf, organized activities for kids, and on-site canteens are common. Camping Mon Plaisir features a semi-Olympic heated pool, nearby water games, and a spa, while Camping Lac Des Cypres has a beach with inflatable water games, pedal boats, kayaks, a waterslide, a giant trampoline, and a canteen. Sanitary blocks with showers, dump stations, laundry, and firewood sales are standard. Sites range from grass tent spots to two- and three-service RV pads. Cell coverage is reliable in town and along main routes but can drop in wooded valleys. Bring bug spray, layers for cool nights, and Canadian currency or a tap-capable card for on-site purchases.
