Campgrounds and RV parks near Broadview, SK

Water recreation is the main draw. Crooked Lake and Round Lake sit in the Qu'Appelle Valley just north of town, with boat launches, fishing, and sandy swimming areas. Anglers target walleye, northern pike, and perch in the valley lakes. Moose Mountain Provincial Park adds a very different landscape of forested hills and interior lakes. Stands of poplar and birch cover hilly terrain that supports camping, swimming, boating, golf, and a network of trails used for hiking and mountain biking in summer and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in winter. In town, the Broadview Historical Museum covers local Cree and settler heritage, and the Trans-Canada corridor makes day trips to Moosomin, Whitewood, and the Qu'Appelle beaches straightforward.

The provincial park camping season in this part of Saskatchewan runs roughly from the May long weekend through early October. Crooked Lake and Moose Mountain both operate their main campgrounds within that window, and private operators in the area follow a similar schedule. July and August are peak season, with warm days ideal for swimming and boating on Crooked Lake, Round Lake, and Kenosee Lake. Long weekends fill up first, and lakeside electric sites at the provincial parks are usually the earliest to sell out. Late May, June, and September offer cooler weather, fewer bugs after mid-August, and easier site selection. Winter shifts the region to a different use. Moose Mountain maintains groomed cross-country ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile trails through the forested uplands, and a small number of winter sites may be available. Most nightly RV camping in the region, however, is a warm-season activity.

Sites in the provincial parks near Broadview are a mix of electric, non-electric, and tent-only, generally set among mature trees. Camping loops at Crooked Lake and Moose Mountain include both pull-through and back-in sites, and the larger loops can accommodate trailers up to about 40 feet. Amenities typically include flush washrooms with showers, a dump station, potable water taps, and playgrounds. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring, and firewood continues to be free of charge in Saskatchewan's Provincial Parks. Cell service is workable but not always fast in the valleys and forested areas, and grocery runs may require a short drive back to Broadview, Whitewood, or Carlyle. Pets are welcome on leash. Bring bug spray for June and early July.
