Campgrounds and RV parks near Eston, SK

Water activity centres on Lake Diefenbaker and the South Saskatchewan River. Fish commonly caught in the lake include northern pike, rainbow trout, and walleye, and there is a boat launch on the north side of the lake and a main beach on the west side of Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park. The park features several interpretive trails and historic sites, including the Goodwin House visitor centre, and is popular for hiking, fishing, and sun-bathing. At Kindersley Regional Park Campground the Motherwell Reservoir supports shore fishing and non-motorized boating, and 4.2 km of paved, barrier-free walking trail loops the water. A nine-hole grass-green golf course with a driving range sits across the road from the campsites. Inside Saskatchewan Landing the marina area also runs an 18-hole mini-golf course, useful on hot afternoons with children.

The practical camping window in this part of Saskatchewan runs from the May long weekend through mid-September. Kindersley Regional Park Campground operates seasonally, typically from May through September, and Kilton Hill Campground runs roughly April through October. Outside these windows water is shut off and washrooms close. July and August are the peak months. Days are warm and long, and evenings on the prairie cool sharply, so overnight temperatures often drop below 10°C even in midsummer. June tends to bring the wettest weather of the year and the most mosquitoes near the river valley. September delivers cooler nights, thinner crowds, and the fall waterfowl migration, which makes it a good shoulder-season choice. Winter camping is not practical for typical RV renters. Bearpaw Campground at Saskatchewan Landing remains accessible year-round, though services are limited and advance notice is recommended. Highways in the region can close during blizzards, so trip planning outside the summer season should include the provincial Highway Hotline.

Expect open, windy prairie sites with limited natural shade outside the river valley. Kilton Hill sits on an exposed rise above the Trans-Canada Highway, so wind is a factor when setting up awnings, and the campground offers 22 full-service sites with 30-amp power, water, and sewer. Sites at Kindersley Regional Park Campground are closer together in a town setting with easy walking access to groceries, fuel, and a laundromat. Inside Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park, Bearpaw is the largest and most developed loop, with 30-amp electrical hookups on all sites, showers, laundry, a camp store, and a dump station. Sagebrush is quieter with electrical service and modern washrooms. Most sites in the park accommodate RVs and trailers up to about 40 feet. Cell service is generally reliable along Highway 7 and near Kindersley, and spottier in the coulees around Lake Diefenbaker. Groceries, propane, and RV supplies are easiest to source in Kindersley or Swift Current before heading to the park.
