Campgrounds and RV parks near Fishing Lake 89, SK

Fishing and beach time drive most trips. Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is built around swimming, boating, and lake fishing for walleye, northern pike, and perch, with an 18-hole golf course, a visitor reception centre, and interpretive programming through the summer. The park has about 125 kilometres of trails used for hiking and biking in the warmer months, and roughly 25 kilometres groomed for cross-country skiing plus 100 kilometres for snowmobiling in winter, with a toboggan hill and outdoor rink also active in the cold months. Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park has a shallow, sandy beach that was named one of Canada's top ten by Maclean's, plus large natural sand dunes reached via the Dune Discovery Interpretive Trail and a section of the Trans Canada Trail. On-park facilities include mini-golf, a boat launch, a playground, and a convenience store, with the 18-hole Good Spirit Golf Resort just south of the park.

The core camping season in this part of Saskatchewan runs from the May long weekend through Labour Day, with shoulder camping extending into September at the larger provincial parks. Good Spirit Lake typically operates for camping from May through September. Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is promoted as a year-round destination, with camping in the warmer months and winter use focused on the toboggan hill, skating rink, groomed cross-country ski trails, and snowmobile network. July and August are the peak family window, with the warmest lake temperatures, full interpretive programming, and the highest demand for electric and full-service sites. June is the wettest month in the region, averaging around 80 millimetres of rain at nearby Kamsack, and can bring heavy thunderstorms. Wildfire smoke has affected Saskatchewan parks in recent seasons, and campground closures have occurred at parks farther north, including at Narrow Hills and parts of Lac La Ronge. Travellers should check the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency for active fire information before departure.

Access roads to the main provincial parks are paved and generally friendly to larger rigs, with room to manoeuvre travel trailers and motorhomes. At Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park, Balsam Campground is fully electric, while Sandy Ridge and Aspen campgrounds mix electric and non-electric sites. Facilities include potable water, an RV sani-dump, laundry, a convenience store, and washrooms with showers. Greenwater Lake Provincial Park includes a mix of nightly and seasonal sites plus 28 cabins and two Camp-Easy yurts for renters without gear, with flush toilets, potable water, and showers across its campgrounds. Pets are welcome in Saskatchewan provincial parks on a leash no longer than two metres but are not allowed on beaches or in public facilities unless the area is designated pet-friendly. Cell coverage is workable near park cores but thins out on backroads, so download maps before leaving town.
