Campgrounds and RV parks near Gordon 86, SK

Gordon 86 is a First Nation reserve in central Saskatchewan, located in the Touchwood Hills region near the village of Punnichy, roughly 130 kilometres north-east of Regina and about 60 kilometres north-west of Fort Qu'Appelle. The reserve is one of the main territories of the George Gordon First Nation, a Treaty 4 community. The surrounding landscape is rural prairie and aspen parkland with limited on-reserve camping infrastructure, so most RV travellers base themselves along the Qu'Appelle Valley to the south or the Last Mountain Lake corridor to the west. The closest full-service option is Echo Valley Provincial Park in the Qu'Appelle Valley, backed by private campgrounds such as The Happy Camper Campground RV, Comfort Plus Campground, Dyer Straits Campground and Cabins, and Lumsden Riverpark Campground. Expect open sky, grain-belt landscapes, small lakes, and short drives between communities. Cell coverage is generally reliable along paved highways but can drop on gravel side roads, so download offline maps before leaving pavement.

Provincial park sites and private campgrounds use different systems, so plan for both. Saskatchewan Provincial Parks, including Echo Valley, reserve through the official parks.saskatchewan.ca portal. Sask Parks uses a staggered spring launch, with seasonal campsites opening first, followed by nightly, Camp-Easy yurt and group campsites through the following week. Echo Valley typically opens for nightly bookings on the final day of that staggered launch, alongside Douglas, Fort Carlton, Makwa Lake, Narrow Hills, and Pike Lake. A valid vehicle entry permit is required for all vehicles in a provincial park, can be purchased in advance online at parks.saskatchewan.ca, and must be carried or displayed as a digital or printed copy on arrival. Private operators such as The Happy Camper Campground RV, Comfort Plus Campground, Dyer Straits Campground and Cabins, and Lumsden Riverpark Campground book directly by phone, email, or their own websites. Reserve long weekends as early as possible.
