Campgrounds and RV parks near Sturgis, SK

Sturgis is a small town in east-central Saskatchewan, roughly halfway between Yorkton and the Manitoba border. It sits within reach of several provincial parks and recreation sites that draw RV travellers to a landscape of lakes, aspen parkland, and rolling boreal-transition hills. The closest developed camping is Preeceville Park, a municipal campground just south in the neighbouring town of Preeceville. A short drive southeast leads to Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park, known for its long sand beach and active dune system. East of Sturgis, Duck Mountain Provincial Park is known for its rolling hills, well-stocked lakes and boreal forest setting, and straddles the Saskatchewan and Manitoba border as an interprovincial park. Further north, Townsend Lake - Woody River Provincial Rec Site offers a quieter, more rustic option in Saskatchewan, while Whitefish Lake Provincial Park sits just across the Manitoba line in the Porcupine Mountain area. Together these sites cover the range from basic tent-and-trailer pads to fully serviced electric sites suitable for larger rigs.

Saskatchewan provincial park sites, including Good Spirit Lake and Duck Mountain, are reserved through the provincial system at parks.saskatchewan.ca. Sask Parks uses a staggered rollout each spring, with seasonal sites opening first and nightly, yurt, and group sites following on assigned days by park. Popular electric sites at Duck Mountain and Good Spirit Lake often go quickly on release day. A valid park entry permit is required for all vehicles inside a provincial park and can be purchased in advance online or at the gate. Whitefish Lake Provincial Park is in Manitoba and is booked through Manitoba Parks, not the Saskatchewan system. Preeceville Park and Townsend Lake - Woody River Provincial Rec Site are managed locally, so reservations are handled through the operating municipality or recreation site administrator. Calling ahead is the reliable option for those two sites.
