Alabama State Parks use a single statewide reservation portal at reservealapark.com, which covers Gulf State Park Campground, Oak Mountain State Park Campground, Wind Creek State Park Campground, DeSoto State Park Campground, Lake Guntersville State Park Campground, and the rest of the system. The booking window differs by residency. Alabama residents can make online reservations 13 months in advance, while out-of-state visitors book 12 months ahead. To use the resident window, the zip code on the credit card must match the Alabama zip code entered at the start of the booking. Maximum stay is 14 nights at most parks, with a 31-night maximum at select parks from November 1 to March 31. A non-refundable reservation fee applies per site. For holiday weekends, fall foliage at mountain parks, and spring break on the coast, book at the opening of the window. Private RV parks near Gulf Shores, Guntersville, and Huntsville take direct bookings and often have shorter lead times.
