Campgrounds and RV parks near Lynn, AL

Lynn sits in Winston County in northwest Alabama, positioned between two water-recreation systems that shape the local camping scene. To the east lies Lewis Smith Lake, a 21,200-acre Alabama Power reservoir on the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River with more than 500 miles of shoreline across Cullman, Walker, and Winston counties. To the west lies the Bear Creek Lakes system, a chain of four TVA reservoirs (Cedar Creek, Little Bear, Upper Bear, and Big Bear) managed by the Bear Creek Development Authority. Both systems draw RV travelers for fishing, boating, and swimming. On the Smith Lake side, Hidden Cove RV Resort and Arrowhead RV Resort at Smith Lake offer lakefront sites with hookups, pools, and boat access. Turkey Hill RV Park provides another private option within reach of Lynn. West of town, Williams Hollow sits on Little Bear Reservoir and Piney Point sits on Big Bear Reservoir. Both are BCDA public campgrounds with water and 30 or 50-amp electric, a central dump station, boat ramps, and swim beaches.

Booking channels vary by operator. Private Smith Lake parks, including Hidden Cove RV Resort, Arrowhead RV Resort at Smith Lake, and Turkey Hill RV Park, take reservations directly through their own websites, phone, or third-party RV marketplaces. Hidden Cove is part of the Thousand Trails network, so membership status can affect availability and pricing. Bear Creek Lakes campgrounds, including Williams Hollow and Piney Point, are managed by the Bear Creek Development Authority and booked through BCDA channels rather than Recreation.gov. Anyone aged 16 to 65 also needs a BCDA user permit to use the lakes and related facilities. For summer weekends and holidays, reserve well in advance. Waterfront and full-hookup sites go first, and Bear Creek's mid-March to mid-October season concentrates demand.
