Campgrounds and RV parks near San Luis, AZ

San Luis sits at the far southwestern corner of Arizona, on the Mexican border about 25 miles south of Yuma. The area is flat Sonoran desert farmland along the Colorado River, and most RV infrastructure clusters between San Luis and Yuma along US-95 and Highway 195. Travelers typically use San Luis as a base for border crossings into San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, or as a quieter alternative to the busier Yuma resort corridor. RV options nearby lean heavily toward full-hookup snowbird resorts rather than tent-oriented campgrounds. Mesa Verde RV Resort and Del Pueblo RV Park and Resort operate as long-stay parks close to the border, while Desert Holiday RV Resort and Capri RV Resort sit slightly north toward Yuma with similar full-service layouts. KOFA Ko-op Retreat serves members and drop-in guests looking for a simpler desert stay. For public-land camping, the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge and surrounding BLM parcels lie roughly an hour north, offering primitive dispersed sites for self-contained rigs.

Private RV resorts around San Luis and Yuma take reservations directly through the park, by phone or website, and most require deposits for peak-season stays. Winter monthly and seasonal bookings at parks such as Desert Holiday RV Resort and Mesa Verde RV Resort often fill many months in advance, so travelers targeting January through March should book well ahead. For public land, dispersed camping in the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge and adjacent BLM areas requires no reservation but is limited to 14 days within any 12-month period, and vehicles must remain within 100 feet of established roads. Arizona State Parks and federal recreation.gov sites in the wider region use standard online reservation windows, typically opening several months ahead.
