Campgrounds and RV parks near Lakeview, AR

Lakeview sits in north-central Arkansas between Bull Shoals Lake, formed by Bull Shoals Dam, and the White River, which flows southeastward along the edge of this small Ozark town. The town is a compact base for RV travelers who want to split time between warmwater lake fishing and cold tailwater trout fishing, with most campgrounds clustered along the river below the dam or near the lake. Camping options range from a full-service state park to family-run river resorts. Bull Shoals White River State Park lies along the White River where the river and Bull Shoals Lake meet, just below Bull Shoals Dam, and offers 109 campsites including Class AAA sites with water, 50-amp electric, and sewer hookups, Class B sites with water and 30-amp electric, tent sites with no hookups, and Rent-An-RV units. Private riverside options such as Red Arrow Resort, Copper John's Resort, Newland's Lodging, and Rainbow Drive Resort Campground add cabins, RV pads, and boat access. Most sites are within a short drive of Bull Shoals Dam, marinas, and the state park visitor center, making Lakeview a practical hub for multi-day trips.

Bull Shoals White River State Park is reserved through the Arkansas State Parks reservation system, either online at arkansasstateparks.com or by phone. Camping reservations can be made up to one year in advance. Weekend reservations require a two-night minimum, and holiday weekends require three nights. The park's campground address in Lakeview is separate from the James A. Gaston Visitor Center in Bull Shoals, so RV drivers should route to the campground address, not the visitor center. Private resorts such as Red Arrow Resort, Copper John's Resort, Newland's Lodging, and Rainbow Drive Resort Campground book directly through their own websites or by phone. For peak summer weekends and fall trout season, reserve several months out. Anglers should also plan to purchase an Arkansas fishing license and trout permit before arrival.
