Great camper! There were three of us and it offered plenty of space for us to spread out. Getting it delivered was very convenient, as a prior camper owner I know it's a lot of work to tow and setup so this is a huge perk. We chose a campground inside a national park that was dry camping (no other options and we are okay with dry camping bc we are very used to it). There was a slight miscommunication on both our parts, I shared the campground info but didn't mention it was dry camping and Celia didn't realize until the day before it was no hookups. They graciously made accommodations for us and we paid to have a generator there since there are no hookups. It worked out perfectly for us because we're used to using very minimal electric and water while camping. However I would say if you're dry camping and not used to it, this probably isn't the camper for you since it's technically not setup to dry camp (no batteries so the only way you have power is when you have the generator on). Would highly recommend this camper! Was a wonderful experience and would definitely do it again!!

My 82 yr old mom And her husband visited us this past week. We rented the trailer for two nights and had a wonderful time. Owner was super helpful with any issues or questions we had, trailer was super roomy and comfortable. Highly recommend.

I truly can’t say enough about how amazing our experience was with Andrea’s travel trailer. The communication before booking was outstanding, and when we needed a couple of extra considerations they were so kind and helpful. The trailer was delivered in immaculate shape and cleanliness. Everything functioned perfectly and there were no surprises, other than the fact that the trailer was even better than expected. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent this trailer again, and anyone who rents it will be VERY happy with both the trailer and the booking experience!

This was our first time using the service so we didn’t know what to expect. Everything went very well. The trailer is very spacious. Drop off and pick up were at the exact times we agreed on. They clearly explained how to use everything so there were no surprises.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near North Fork, CA

How much does an RV rental in North Fork cost?

An RV rental in North Fork is one of the more affordable ways to experience Yosemite and the Sierra National Forest. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $80 to $150 per night, campervans run $125 to $200, and Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $300, depending on size and season. To find a cheap RV rental in North Fork, target shoulder months like April, May, or October when Bass Lake crowds thin out but daytime temps still hit the 60s and 70s. Filter for Instant Book and weekly stays to unlock host discounts that often shave 10-20% off summer rates.

What license do I need to rent an RV in North Fork, CA?

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in North Fork, California. There's no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement required, even for larger Class A and Class C motorhomes you'll drive up Highway 41 toward Yosemite. You'll just need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during checkout. Visiting from overseas? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before flying in and pair it with your home license. Most first-timers are surprised how quickly the approval goes, often the same day you book.

What protection comes with my North Fork RV rental?

Every RV rental in North Fork booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from the moment you pull away from the host's driveway. The protection plan helps shield you from most accidental damage to the RV, and you can choose your level of coverage during checkout based on how much peace of mind you want for your Sierra Nevada trip. Tiers vary in deductible and coverage limits, all shown transparently before you book. Pick your tier, lock in your dates, and focus on what really matters: stargazing over Bass Lake.

What if I need to cancel my North Fork RV trip?

Booking an RV rental in North Fork is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you reserve, giving you breathing room to finalize plans, time off, and Yosemite entry reservations. Beyond that window, refunds depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds you in full or offers travel credit. If your plans shift, open your RVezy dashboard and our support team will walk you through your options.

Can I bring my dog on a North Fork RV rental?

Absolutely, North Fork is a great destination for dog owners. To find a pet-friendly RV rental in North Fork, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see motorhomes and trailers whose hosts welcome four-legged guests (some hosts add a small pet fee, shown up front). Once you are here, dogs are allowed on most Sierra National Forest trails on a 6-foot leash, including trails around Bass Lake and Mammoth Pool Reservoir. Pets are not permitted on most Yosemite National Park trails, but the Wawona Meadow Loop is a dog-friendly exception. Pack a portable water bowl, summers near Bass Lake hit the high 80s.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in North Fork?

Yes, and it is one of the best parts about booking here. Many RVezy hosts offer RV delivery in North Fork and the surrounding Madera County area, meaning they will tow or drive the rig directly to your campsite at Bass Lake, into a Sierra National Forest campground, or to a vacation rental driveway. They will level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. For first time renting an RV, this is a game changer, no backing a 30-foot motorhome up a winding mountain road required. Use the Delivery filter, message the host with your campground name, and confirm the fee (often based on mileage from their location).

How far can I drive on my North Fork RV trip?

You've got serious range from North Fork. Yosemite's South Entrance is just 35 miles north via Highway 41, Bass Lake sits 15 minutes away, and Mammoth Pool Reservoir is about 40 miles east on Minarets Road. Bigger adventures? Sequoia National Park is roughly 130 miles south, Kings Canyon is 110 miles, and Mono Lake via Tioga Pass is around 130 miles in summer. Most RVezy hosts include a daily mileage allowance (often 100-150 miles/day) with an overage fee, and some offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer RV road trip from North Fork. Check the listing's mileage policy or message the host before booking.

Where are the best campgrounds near North Fork?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near North Fork include Forks Campground on Bass Lake (lakeside sites with vault toilets, run by the Sierra National Forest), Spring Cove Campground (also on Bass Lake, opens in May with potable water), Lupine-Cedar Bluff Campground (popular family loops a short walk from the swim beaches), and Wishon Point for quieter, smaller-rig stays. For full hookups, High Sierra RV Park in nearby Oakhurst and Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort handle Class A motorhomes up to 40+ feet. Goat Meadow offers free dispersed camping closer to Yosemite. Reserve Bass Lake sites the day they open, typically six months ahead on Recreation.gov.

When is the best time of year to visit North Fork in an RV?

North Fork shines longer than most Sierra towns thanks to its 2,600-foot elevation, so the season runs roughly mid-April through late October. Late May through June is arguably the sweet spot: wildflowers pop, Bass Lake fills with snowmelt, daytime temps sit in the 70s and low 80s, and Yosemite waterfalls are at full roar. July and August are hottest (highs near 88°F) and busiest, but evenings cool into the 50s, perfect for campfires. September delivers fewer crowds and golden oak canyons. Winters are mild down in town but mountain roads above 5,000 feet require chains. Book early summer 2-3 months ahead, Bass Lake sites fill fast.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay around North Fork?

You'll be just fine, North Fork is a friendly first-RV destination. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, showing you the dash, leveling, propane, slide-outs, water systems, and dump basics before you drive off. Roads around Bass Lake and Highway 41 toward Yosemite are well-maintained two-lane highways with generous turnouts. Avoid the narrow Minarets Road past Mammoth Pool in your first rig, and skip Tioga Pass with a tall Class A. If city driving stresses you out, just choose delivery and let the host park it at your campsite. Pro tip: message your host with your itinerary, they'll often share local shortcuts and the best gas stops in Oakhurst.

What happens if something breaks down on my North Fork trip?

You are never stranded. Every RVezy booking comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included with the protection plan, covering tows, flat tires, lockouts, jump starts, and fuel delivery, even up Minarets Road or along Highway 41 to Yosemite. If something inside the RV acts up (fridge, generator, slide-out), message your host first, they know the rig and can usually troubleshoot in minutes by phone. For anything bigger, RVezy support is reachable around the clock. Cell coverage drops in pockets of Sierra National Forest, so screenshot the roadside number and host contact before leaving Oakhurst, where you will find the closest reliable signal.

Can I take my North Fork RV rental into Yosemite or other states?

Yes to both. Yosemite National Park is only 35 miles north of North Fork via Highway 41 and is the headline destination for most renters, just check whether a timed-entry reservation is required if visiting in peak summer. You are also free to cross into Nevada (Lake Tahoe is about 5 hours north) or Oregon on a longer RV road trip from North Fork, as RVezy's insurance and protection covers travel throughout the continental US and Canada. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage ends at the border. If you are planning a multi-state loop, mention it to the host so mileage is sorted up front.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan smart and you'll be fine. Class B campervans around North Fork get roughly 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8-12 MPG, Class A rigs 6-10 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (figure 10-14 MPG combined). California gas prices typically run $1-$1.50 above the national average, and the last reliable fuel stops before Bass Lake and Yosemite are in Oakhurst (15 minutes south of North Fork) where you'll find Chevron, Shell, and a Valero. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop in a Class C, budget roughly $200-$280 in fuel. Fill up in Oakhurst, prices climb sharply once you're inside the park.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near North Fork?

Earlier than you'd think, especially for Bass Lake. Sierra National Forest campgrounds like Forks, Spring Cove, Lupine-Cedar Bluff, and Wishon Point release reservations on Recreation.gov on a rolling six-month window, and prime Friday/Saturday summer nights vanish within minutes of opening at 7 a.m. Pacific. For Yosemite Valley campgrounds, set a calendar reminder, those go in five-month blocks at 7 a.m. Pacific on the 15th of each month. Shoulder season (May, September, October) is far more forgiving and you can often snag spots 2-4 weeks out. Pro tip: if you strike out, private parks in Oakhurst and Coarsegold usually have last-minute availability.
recreation.gov/

What are the local driving conditions like around North Fork?

North Fork sits in the rolling Sierra foothills, so expect winding two-lane mountain roads with grades, switchbacks, and the occasional logging truck, but nothing scary in a properly oriented RV. Highway 41 from Oakhurst into Yosemite is wide, well-paved, and the safest route for any rig size. Road 222 to Bass Lake is curvy but manageable. Avoid Minarets Road past Mammoth Pool in anything over 25 feet (tight switchbacks, no guardrails) and skip Tioga Pass with tall rigs. From November through April, mountain roads above 4,000 feet can require tire chains, so check Caltrans QuickMap before climbing. Drive in daylight when possible, deer are most active at dusk on Road 274.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds around North Fork?

Expect a mix. Sierra National Forest campgrounds around North Fork (Forks, Spring Cove, Lupine-Cedar Bluff, Wishon Point) generally offer vault toilets, potable water spigots, picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof food lockers, but no electric, water, or sewer hookups at the site itself. For full hookups, head 20 minutes south to High Sierra RV Park or Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort in Oakhurst, both have 30/50-amp service and dump stations. Closest dump stations are at Oakhurst RV parks and the Bass Lake area. Fill fresh water at the Bass Lake Ranger Station and pack a 25-foot drinking-safe hose. Bears are real here, never leave food outside, period.

What's actually inside the RVs available in North Fork?

More than you might expect. Most RV rentals in North Fork come fully outfitted: a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa beds, a kitchen with propane stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, sink, and a bathroom with toilet and shower. Class C motorhomes and larger trailers usually sleep 4-8 with seatbelts for travel. Many listings include a generator (handy for boondocking near Mammoth Pool), rooftop AC (you will want it in July), heater, outdoor speakers, and even a TV. Wi-Fi and cell service are spotty in the Sierra, so download maps and entertainment in Oakhurst first. Check each listing's amenity list, and message the host if you need something specific like a kid's booster or bike rack.

What add-ons can I get, and how does pickup and drop-off work?

Lots of helpful options. Popular add-ons on motorhome rental North Fork listings include generator use, kayaks or SUPs (perfect for Bass Lake), camp chairs and tables, linens and kitchen kits, bike racks, firewood bundles, and Starlink Wi-Fi on select rigs. Each host sets their own fees, all shown transparently before you book. Pickup is usually at the host's home in North Fork, Oakhurst, or nearby Coarsegold, or you can request delivery. Plan 45-60 minutes for the walkthrough on day one and 30 minutes for return inspection. Mileage policies vary: many include 100-150 miles per night with a per-mile overage. Returning the RV clean and with empty tanks helps you avoid extra fees.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

It is all handled cleanly through RVezy, no cash, no awkward third-party transfers. When you book your campervan rental North Fork or motorhome, you pay the rental total, taxes, and any add-ons by credit card directly on the platform. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment (typically $500-$1,500 depending on the RV's value), and it is released back to your card after the trip assuming there is no damage or excessive cleaning. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos at pickup and drop-off, return the rig with the same fuel and propane levels, and follow the host's mileage and dump-station rules. If something goes sideways, RVezy's support team mediates, you are not negotiating solo.
