Folsom Lake is the main draw, with more than 11,000 surface acres open to powerboating, jet skiing, sailing, paddleboarding, and fishing for trout, catfish, and bass. The recreation area also includes roughly 95 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, plus a paved bike path connecting Beals Point to the American River Bike Trail that runs into Sacramento. Swimming beaches at Beals Point and Granite Bay are popular with families on hot days, and equipment rentals are available near the lake.
