Campgrounds near Graceville
Graceville sits in Jackson County in the Florida Panhandle, roughly a half-hour drive from Interstate 10 and within reach of both the Alabama state line and Florida's inland spring country. The area is rural, agricultural, and low-traffic, which suits RV travelers who want quiet nights and easy pull-throughs without the crowds of the Emerald Coast.
Most RV options nearby fall into two categories: private full-hookup parks and one state park campground. Hidden Hollow RV Park, A Okay RV Park, Hitchinpost RV Park and Campground, and Outback Springs RV Resort are private options in the surrounding communities of Graceville, Bonifay, and Chipley. Falling Waters State Park Campground sits 3 miles south of Chipley off State Road 77, roughly 20 miles from Graceville, and is the closest public state-park stay.
Booking behavior differs by park. Private parks generally take direct reservations by phone or website and often welcome monthly stays. Falling Waters is booked through the statewide Florida State Parks reservation system, which has firm windows and higher demand on weekends.
Things to do near Graceville
The signature nearby attraction is Falling Waters State Park, home to Florida's tallest waterfall, which drops 73 feet into a sinkhole. A boardwalk trail leads visitors to the 73-foot falls, and the park's two-acre freshwater lake has a white-sand beach suitable for swimming and fishing for bass, catfish, and bream. Ranger-led programs and a butterfly garden are usually available in season. Note that the falls depend entirely on rainfall, so reviewers report a strong flow during wet months and a completely dry pit during dry spells.
Florida Caverns State Park, about 20 to 25 miles east near Marianna, adds guided cave tours, the Chipola River, and paddling on Merritt's Mill Pond. Day trips west reach Panama City Beach and the Gulf in roughly an hour by RV.
Closer to town, families use the private parks as a base for pool time, fishing ponds, and short drives to grocery stores in Graceville, Bonifay, and Chipley.

Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV camping. From March through May and again from mid-September into November, daytime highs sit in the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit and humidity is manageable. These shoulder seasons also line up with the region's driest stretch, particularly October, which historically records the lowest monthly rainfall in the Marianna area.
Summer is hot and wet. Afternoon thunderstorms are near-daily from June through August, and heat indices frequently exceed 100°F. Sites with shade and 50-amp service are worth prioritizing. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with peak activity in August and September; travelers should monitor NOAA and National Hurricane Center advisories.
Winter is mild but variable. Freezing nights occur several times per season, and cold fronts bring brief heavy rain. Most private parks near Graceville stay open year-round, and Falling Waters State Park is open year-round, 365 days, making off-season stays feasible for snowbirds.
How to book campgrounds near Graceville
Falling Waters State Park Campground reserves through the Florida State Parks system, either online at ReserveFloridaStateParks or by phone. Florida residents can make campsite reservations 11 months in advance, while non-residents can make reservations 10 months in advance. The campground has 24 sites, so weekends, holidays, and cool-season stays fill quickly and a cancellation-alert service can help.
Hidden Hollow RV Park, A Okay RV Park, Hitchinpost RV Park and Campground, and Outback Springs RV Resort are privately operated and typically booked directly by phone or through each park's own website. Availability is generally easier than at the state park, but full-hookup pull-through sites for large rigs can still book out during winter snowbird season and during regional events at nearby fairgrounds and colleges.
What to expect
Sites near Graceville are generally level and set on gravel or grass, with pines providing partial shade. Full hookups with 30- and 50-amp service are common at the private parks. At Falling Waters State Park Campground, all sites include water and 20/30/50-amp electric hookups, while sites 1-7 and 16-21 add full sewer connections, and a dump station is available for RV waste disposal. Five pull-through sites accommodate larger rigs, though some back-in sites can be tight for vehicles over 40 feet.
Cell coverage varies across the wooded state-park loop, and public Wi-Fi is inconsistent, so travelers relying on data should plan accordingly.
Expect quiet, rural surroundings. Grocery, fuel, and propane are available in Graceville, Bonifay, and Chipley. Pets are welcome at both private parks and the state park on a six-foot leash, with quiet hours enforced overnight.

weather.gov/tae/I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving in Graceville?
You'll do great, and Graceville is a wonderful first time renting an RV destination. The roads are flat, traffic is light, and US-231 and I-10 are wide, well-marked corridors that make easing into a bigger vehicle painless. Every RVezy host gives you a full orientation at pickup, walking you through driving tips, slide-outs, propane, water systems, and the dump valves. Tip: snap a photo of the tire sizes, propane tank type, and any fuse panel labels during your walk-through so any technician who shows up can move fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Graceville RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome and easy from Graceville. You're about 5 miles from the Alabama border and roughly 30 miles from Georgia, so weekend hops to Dothan, AL, or Lake Seminole, GA, are popular. Longer trips to the Smoky Mountains or the Florida Keys are typically fine if you confirm with your host first, since mileage and protection coverage need to be set up correctly. Cross-border travel between the U.S. and Canada is generally not covered by RVezy's protection plans, and travel into Mexico is not permitted. Message your host with your route before booking and they'll confirm in writing.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Graceville RV trip?
Fuel is one of the easier line items to plan here because Florida Panhandle gas prices typically run a bit below the national average. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class B campervans get 15 to 20 MPG, and a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer usually lands around 10 to 12 MPG. For a 300-mile loop from Graceville to Panama City Beach and back, plan roughly $90 to $130 in gas for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: fill up in Graceville or Cottondale before heading toward the beach, since prices climb closer to 30A.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Graceville?
For peace of mind, reserve 2 to 6 months ahead, especially for spring break in March, Memorial Day, and fall festival weekends. Florida state parks like Florida Caverns and Falling Waters open reservations 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system, and the prime weekends sell out fast. Private parks like Holmes Creek Canoe Livery and Campground book through their own sites and are usually easier to grab on shorter notice. Insider tip: midweek arrivals from Sunday through Wednesday almost always have openings, even in peak season, so adjust your dates by a day or two if your first choice is full.
floridastateparks.org/learn/camping-reservationsWhat are driving conditions like around Graceville, FL?
Driving conditions around Graceville are about as RV-friendly as Florida gets. The terrain is flat, elevations stay under 200 feet, and the two main routes (I-10 east-west and US-231 north-south) have wide lanes and easy shoulders. Watch for short, intense afternoon thunderstorms from June through September; pulling off at the next exit and waiting 20 minutes is the local move. Deer are active near dawn and dusk on rural roads like SR-2 and SR-77, so slow down through wooded stretches. Bridges over the Chipola and Choctawhatchee rivers can get gusty, so keep both hands on the wheel.
fl511.com/What amenities do campgrounds near Graceville offer?
Most campgrounds near Graceville come well-equipped for a smooth stay. Holmes Creek Canoe Livery and Campground offers hookups, a dump station, and river access. Florida Caverns State Park has water and electric sites, hot showers, and a dump station near the exit. Falling Waters State Park provides 30 amp electric and water at each site plus a central dump and potable water fill. floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/florida-caverns-state-parkWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Graceville, FL?
Most RVs on the platform come ready to live in from the moment you turn the key. Expect a queen or king bed, a kitchen with a fridge, propane stove, microwave, and sink, plus a wet or dry bathroom with a shower and toilet. Lots of useful extras are just a click away. Common add-ons on a campervan rental Graceville hosts list include linen and towel packages ($30 to $75), kitchen kits, outdoor chairs and tables, bikes, kayaks, generators, and propane fills. Pickup is usually at the host's driveway, but many will meet you at a campground or even Dothan Regional Airport (DHN), about 25 miles north, for a small delivery fee. Mileage policies vary, so check the listing or message the host. Pro tip: bundle the linen and kitchen kits on your first trip so you arrive empty-handed and ready to relax on day one.
flydothan.com/How does payment and the security deposit work when I rent an RV in Graceville?
Payment is straightforward and handled entirely through RVezy, so you never hand cash or a card to the host. You pay the booking total securely online when you reserve, and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card shortly before pickup, separate from your booking payment. If the RV comes back in the same condition it left, the hold is released after your trip. To avoid any hiccups, do a thorough walk-around at pickup with your host, take date-stamped photos inside and out, and return the RV with the fuel and propane levels noted in your agreement.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trips from Graceville, FL?
You're sitting on top of some of the South's best RV routes. Panama City Beach and 30A are 70 to 90 minutes south for sugar-white sand and seafood shacks. Pensacola and the National Naval Aviation Museum are about 2 hours west via I-10. Tallahassee and Wakulla Springs sit 1.5 to 2 hours east. For a longer adventure, the Smoky Mountains are roughly 9 hours north, and St. Augustine is around 5 hours east.
