Campgrounds near Marianna, Florida
Marianna sits in Jackson County in the Florida Panhandle, about 60 miles west of Tallahassee along Interstate 10. The town is a practical RV base for exploring caves, spring-fed rivers, and Lake Seminole, with easy highway access and a mix of state park and private campground options.
Florida Caverns State Park is the area's headline draw. It is the only Florida state park with air-filled caves accessible to the public, located in the rolling hills of the Panhandle near Marianna. The 1,500-acre park offers 38 campsites for both tents and RVs, with the Blue Hole Campground providing 32 full-hookup sites and a separate equestrian area with additional sites.
Private options cluster along US-90 and Merritt's Mill Pond. Florida Caverns RV Resort at Merritt's Mill Pond offers full-hookup pull-through sites on the spring-fed pond, while Stay N Go RV, Stay N Go RV Resort, Hitchinpost RV Park and Campground, and Alliance Hill RV Resort provide additional overnight and extended-stay options for travelers routing through the Panhandle.
Things to do near Marianna
The main attraction is the guided cavern tour at Florida Caverns State Park. Cave tours run seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central time, and tickets are typically sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early helps secure a spot on busy days.
On the water, Merritt's Mill Pond is a clear, spring-fed pond popular for paddling, snorkeling, and fishing. The Chipola River and Spring Creek offer kayak and canoe routes near the state park.
About 25 miles east, Three Rivers State Park sits on Lake Seminole at the Florida-Georgia line. Campers can launch from a boat ramp to enjoy some of the best freshwater fishing in the state or fish from a 100-foot pier in the camping area. The 37,500-acre lake is known for largemouth bass, striped bass, and channel catfish.

December - February
63° / 43°F 115 mmMild and quiet; good window for open state park sites.
Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel in the Panhandle. Days are warm, humidity is lower than in midsummer, and the parks are open in full. The state park landscape is especially colorful during spring and early summer when wildflowers bloom along the floodplains.
Summer brings heat, high humidity, and near-daily afternoon thunderstorms. Marianna experiences a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and cool winters, and rainfall is spread fairly evenly through the year, with heavier downpours concentrated in the warm months. Peak state-park demand runs from spring through early fall. Weekends and holidays fill first, so booking two to three months out is wise for the busiest windows.
Winters are mild and quiet, making January and February good windows for snowbirds who want open sites and cool hiking weather. Atlantic hurricane season peaks in September, and travelers should monitor NHC advisories, since inland parks in this region have been impacted by past storms, including Hurricane Michael.
How to book campgrounds near Marianna
Florida state parks use a single central reservation system. Campsites at Florida Caverns State Park can be booked up to 11 months in advance for Florida residents and 10 months in advance for non-residents. Reservations are made through the Florida State Parks reservations website or by calling 800-326-3521 (TDD 888-433-0287). The same booking window and phone line apply at Three Rivers State Park.
A non-refundable reservation fee applies per reservation, collected at booking. Cancellation fees apply prior to arrival, and day-of cancellations are charged the first night.
Private parks in and around Marianna, including Florida Caverns RV Resort at Merritt's Mill Pond, Stay N Go RV, Stay N Go RV Resort, Hitchinpost RV Park and Campground, and Alliance Hill RV Resort, book directly through each property. Reserve early for holiday weekends and spring break.
What to expect on the ground
Marianna is a small town with basic services: grocery, fuel, and hardware along US-90 and near the I-10 exits. Cell coverage is generally good in town and weaker in wooded state park loops.
Site quality varies by park. At Florida Caverns, the 32 Blue Hole sites include water, electric (30/50 amp), and sewer hookups, while the equestrian area adds a mix of electric-and-water and primitive tent sites. Three Rivers State Park offers water and electric sites with a dump station but no in-site sewer, plus a rustic cabin overlooking Lake Seminole.
Private parks along Merritt's Mill Pond lean toward full-hookup pull-throughs suited to larger rigs, with 30 and 50-amp service common. Expect mosquitoes and biting flies near water in warm months, and pack sun protection for open sites.

Yes, RV delivery in Marianna is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers. Many local hosts will drive the RV directly to Florida Caverns State Park's campground or nearby private RV parks, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. You skip the towing stress and start your vacation the moment they pull away. Use the Delivery filter to see hosts who offer it, and check the listing for delivery range and fees, which typically scale with distance from town.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marianna,FloridaWhere are the best campgrounds near Marianna for an RV stay?

The campground inside Florida Caverns State Park offers shaded sites with water and electric, within walking distance of the cave tours and the Blue Hole swimming spring. Nearby private RV parks provide full hookups and pull-through sites convenient to I-10 for big rigs needing a quick overnight. Falling Waters State Park, about 20 minutes south, offers sites near Florida's tallest waterfall, and Three Rivers State Park to the east has lakeside sites on Lake Seminole. Pro tip: Florida state park sites release 11 months out through the Florida State Parks reservation system, so book early for winter and spring.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/florida-caverns-state-parkWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip to Marianna?
Marianna shines from October through April, when daytime highs sit in a comfortable 65 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit range, humidity drops, and the spring-fed Blue Hole stays a crisp 70 degrees year-round. Spring (March to April) brings wildflowers along the Chipola River floodplain and ideal cave-tour weather. Summer (June to September) is hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, though it is prime time for swimming Merritt's Mill Pond. Winter is mild but can dip into the 30s overnight, so confirm the RV has a working furnace. Insider tip: late October is the sweet spot, fewer snowbirds, warm days, and far fewer mosquitoes.
weather.gov/tae/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Marianna?
You will do great, Marianna is one of the easiest places in Florida to start. The terrain is gently rolling, traffic is light outside of I-10, and roads like Highway 90 and Caverns Road have wide shoulders. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, showing you how to operate slides, the generator, water systems, and dumping, so first time renting an RV does not feel like a guessing game. If you would rather skip driving altogether, choose delivery and the host parks and sets up everything. Pro tip: take a 15-minute practice loop through a large empty parking lot near I-10 before heading to your campground.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. Marianna sits at the intersection of I-10 and US-231, so service vehicles can reach you quickly whether you are at Florida Caverns State Park, on Highway 90, or pulled off near Lake Seminole. The RVezy support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's VIN, license plate, and the host's contact info at pickup so everything is ready if you ever need to make a call.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take a Marianna RV rental on a multi-state road trip?
Yes, an RV road trip from Marianna is one of the best ways to see the Gulf South. You can freely cross into Alabama (about 30 minutes north on US-231 to Dothan), Georgia (about 45 minutes north via SR-71 to Bainbridge), and onward across the southeastern US, all standard on RVezy bookings. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals due to insurance coverage limits. Cross-border trips to Canada may be possible on some listings, so message the host first to confirm. Popular routes include Marianna to New Orleans (about 350 miles), Marianna to the Great Smoky Mountains (about 550 miles), and Marianna to Savannah (about 320 miles).
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Marianna RV trip?
Fuel is one of the friendlier line items here. Florida Panhandle gas prices typically run below the national average, and Marianna has major truck stops and several stations clustered around I-10. Plan on roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class C, 6 to 8 mpg for a Class A, and 12 to 15 mpg for a campervan or truck pulling a travel trailer. A typical 300-mile loop around the Panhandle (Marianna to Panama City Beach to Apalachicola and back) will run about $100 to $150 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: top off at one of the major truck stops near I-10 Exit 142 before heading west, diesel and DEF tend to be consistently cheaper there.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book a campground near Marianna?
Book early and you will have your pick. Florida Caverns State Park's campground releases sites 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system, and winter and spring weekends sell out fast thanks to snowbirds heading down I-10. For private parks, 4 to 8 weeks ahead is usually enough outside peak holidays. If you are booking last-minute, midweek availability at private parks is almost always there. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly 11 months before your target date at 8 a.m. Eastern, then log in the moment sites release to grab the best Blue Hole sites.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reservation-informationWhat are the local driving conditions like around Marianna?
Marianna driving is refreshingly low-stress for an RV. I-10 runs east-west right through town with wide lanes and gentle grades, and US-231 north to Dothan is a four-lane divided highway. The biggest things to watch are summer afternoon thunderstorms (pull over and wait them out), occasional fog on river bottoms along the Chipola River in early morning, and deer near Florida Caverns State Park at dusk. The town itself has some low live oak canopies on side streets, so most rentals 11 feet tall or under are fine on main routes. Pro tip: when driving a Class A through town, stick to Highway 90 to stay clear of tight downtown intersections.
fdot.gov/safety/2a-traffic-safety/traffic-safety-home.shtmWhat amenities can I expect at Marianna-area campgrounds?
Marianna-area campgrounds are well-equipped for any rig. Private RV parks near I-10 typically offer full hookups (30 and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer at the site) with pull-through sites for larger rigs. Florida Caverns State Park's campground has water and electric at each site plus a central dump station. Public dump stations are also available at Falling Waters State Park (about 20 minutes south) and Three Rivers State Park (about 35 minutes east). Potable water fill-ups are easy at any of these. Pro tip: top off fresh water at a Marianna-area park drawing from the local artesian aquifer, the same water source that feeds Merritt's Mill Pond.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/florida-caverns-state-parkWhat's inside the RVs available for rent in Marianna?
You will find Marianna RVs well-stocked. Most Class C motorhomes and travel trailers on RVezy sleep 4 to 8 people, with a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave), bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette, and queen or king beds. Air conditioning is standard, which matters when summer humidity hits, and many include a generator for off-grid stops along the Chipola River. Newer rigs often have flat-screen TVs, Bluetooth stereos, and Wi-Fi boosters. Campervans (Class B) are more compact but still come with a bed, fridge, and stovetop. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps and add must-haves like generator or outdoor kitchen to your search, then check the listing photos to confirm exactly what is included before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marianna,FloridaWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for a Marianna RV rental?
Marianna hosts offer plenty of ways to customize your trip. Common add-ons include camping chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, bike racks, generators, propane refills, and even kayaks or paddleboards (handy for Merritt's Mill Pond). Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Marianna, and many offer delivery to Florida Caverns State Park or nearby private RV parks for a flat fee that scales with distance. Mileage policies vary by listing, with daily allowances or unlimited-mileage options shown clearly. Pro tip: ask the host about a one-way drop-off if you are heading to Pensacola or Tallahassee, some Panhandle hosts will accommodate it for a relocation fee.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marianna,FloridaHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy directly with a credit or debit card at the time of booking, never cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is held on your card before your trip starts, and the amount is shown clearly on the listing before you book. The deposit is separate from your booking payment. If the RV comes back in the same condition, the hold is released after the trip. Pro tip: do a quick video walkaround of the RV at pickup and drop-off, time-stamped photos help prevent any deposit disputes and keep your Marianna RV trip stress-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow should I prepare for Marianna's summer heat in an RV?
Summer in Marianna is hot but very manageable in a well-equipped RV. Highs run 88 to 94 degrees Fahrenheit June through September with heavy humidity, so you will want a rig with a strong roof air conditioner (most rentals have one, larger Class A units often have two). Park in shade when possible, and arrive early to claim shaded sites at Florida Caverns State Park. Drive in the morning to keep the engine cooler, and take afternoon breaks at the 70-degree Blue Hole spring or in the constantly cool Florida Caverns. Pro tip: shoulder seasons (March to April and October to November) are the smart-money move, lower nightly rates and perfect weather for an RV camping Marianna trip.
