Campgrounds and RV parks near Georgetown-Quitman, GA

Georgetown-Quitman sits on the Georgia side of Walter F. George Lake, the Chattahoochee River reservoir also known as Lake Eufaula. The lake extends 85 miles along the river and has 640 miles of shoreline, so it anchors most RV camping in the area, with public and private options on both the Alabama and Georgia shorelines within a short drive of town. On the Alabama shore, Lakepoint State Park is the largest single campground in the immediate area, with 192 improved campsites plus a lodge, cabins, and a marina. Full-hookup pull-through sites are grouped in Deer Court, while the Barbour and Clark loops offer water and electric. The Lake Eufaula Campgrounds and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers parks around the reservoir add hundreds more lakefront RV sites. South of town on the Georgia shore, Florence Marina State Park is a 173-acre state park near Omaha with a deep-water marina and full-hookup sites. Backwater RV Park and City Limits RV Resort round out the private options for travellers who want full hookups closer to services.

Reservation systems vary by operator. Florence Marina State Park is booked through the Georgia State Parks reservation system, generally up to 13 months in advance. Lakepoint State Park uses the Alabama State Parks reservation portal, where advanced reservations may be made up to one year in advance and maximum stay for camping is 14 nights (31 nights November 1 to March 31 at select parks). Reservations for Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Walter F. George Lake can be made through the Recreation.gov website or by calling their reservation line. As a Corps of Engineers campground, sites can be booked up to six months in advance. Corps stays are typically capped at 14 days within any 30-day period on the project. Backwater RV Park and City Limits RV Resort are private and take reservations directly through their operators. For holiday weekends and spring fishing tournaments, book several months out.
