Campgrounds and RV parks near Hagan, GA

Fishing, paddling, and lake swimming are the core activities. Jack Hill State Park has a twelve-acre lake with boat and kayak rentals, a splash pad, mini golf, and the eighteen-hole Brazell's Creek Golf Course on the property. Beaver Run RV Park and Campground offers a spring-fed swimmable lake, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, disc golf, horseshoes, a game room with pool and ping pong, and a playground, which helps keep kids busy on rainy afternoons. Day trips are easy. Savannah's Historic District is roughly an hour east, Tybee Island a bit farther, and the Altamaha and Ohoopee Rivers give access to blackwater paddling and bank fishing. Vidalia and Statesboro cover larger shopping and restaurant needs.

Spring and fall are the sweet spots. From March through May and again from late September into November, daytime highs are comfortable, humidity is lower, and biting insects are less aggressive than in midsummer. State-park sites and lakeside pull-throughs book up first on spring weekends, especially around school breaks and holiday weekends. Summer is hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms common from June into August. Splash pads and swimmable lakes see heavy use, and shaded sites under the pines are worth requesting. This is also the core of the Atlantic hurricane season, which peaks in September; coastal Georgia sometimes sees tropical systems track inland, so travelers should watch the National Hurricane Center outlook when booking late-summer trips. Winters are mild but can be wet. Overnight lows can drop near freezing during cold snaps, though most days stay comfortable enough for RV travel. Many private parks stay open year-round, and Jack Hill State Park operates its campground through the winter as well.

Sites near Hagan are generally level and set among tall southern yellow pines. Most private parks in the area offer thirty and fifty amp full hookups, pull-through options for larger rigs, cable and Wi-Fi at many sites, and a dump station. Jack Hill State Park offers full-hookup sites that accommodate longer rigs, though a few pads sit close together, so requesting a specific site number can matter. Cell coverage is generally solid along the I-16 corridor and thinner along river-bottom roads. Groceries, fuel, propane, and basic supplies are available in Claxton, Reidsville, and Metter. Larger shopping runs mean a drive to Vidalia or Statesboro. Alligators are present in area lakes and rivers, so children and pets should be supervised near the water.
