Campgrounds and RV parks near Lake Park, GA

Wild Adventures Theme Park is the anchor family attraction. It offers rides, animal habitats, and the Splash Island water park, plus a campground with direct park access for guests staying on-site. Reed Bingham State Park, about 25 minutes north near Adel, centers on a 375-acre lake with boating, fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and bream, kayak and canoe rentals, and the Coastal Plain Nature Trail. Reed Bingham is also known for wildlife: gopher tortoises, indigo snakes, alligators along the lake edge, and a large winter roost of black and turkey vultures. Nesting bald eagles are often seen in winter. Closer in, Lake Park has outlet shopping at the interstate exit, and several natural springs and rivers on the Florida side, including Suwannee River access, are within an hour's drive.

South Georgia has a humid subtropical climate. Summers run long, hot, and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms building most days from June through August. June through August are the wettest months, and the region can also see tropical systems moving inland from the Gulf or Atlantic, so travelers should track the National Hurricane Center outlook during late summer and early fall. Winter is the peak RV season along this stretch of I-75. Days are mild, nights are cool, and snowbirds moving between the northern states and Florida keep local parks busy from roughly late December through March. Booking several weeks ahead is normal in this window, and popular pull-through sites at Eagles Roost Campground and RV and Lake Park RV Campground fill first. Spring and fall bring the most comfortable weather. April, October, and November tend to be drier and warm, and wildlife viewing at Reed Bingham State Park is at its best in late fall and winter, when bald eagles nest and vulture roosts are active.

Most campgrounds close to I-75 are laid out for transient RV traffic. Expect paved or concrete pads, 30 and 50 amp service, water and sewer at the site, and shared bathhouses and laundry. Sites are often shaded by live oaks draped in Spanish moss, which is typical of the Coastal Plain. Some interstate-adjacent parks have noticeable highway noise; sites farther from the frontage road are quieter. Wild Adventures Safari Campground offers RV sites, tent sites, and cottages with full hookups, a pool, and free Wi-Fi. Outside firewood is not permitted, and wood is sold on-site at Safari Station. Reed Bingham State Park splits its sites into a water-and-electric loop and a full-hookup loop with 50-amp service, and a dump station is on-site. Expect heat, humidity, and mosquitoes from late spring through early fall. Alligators are present at area ponds and lakes, so keep pets leashed and away from shorelines.
