Campgrounds near Marsing, Idaho
Marsing sits on the Snake River in southwest Idaho's Treasure Valley, about 30 miles west of Boise and at the doorstep of the Owyhee Mountains. The area is a working farm and ranch corridor with river access, wine country to the north, and high desert to the south, which makes it a practical basecamp for RV travelers exploring the Snake River Canyon, Lake Owyhee, or the Boise metro without staying inside the city.
Campground options range from full-hookup RV parks to a soaking-pool destination. Givens Hot Springs sits just up Highway 78 from Marsing and stays open year round with RV sites, dry camping, a kitchenette cabin, and a rental trailer alongside day-use soaking. Snake River RV Resort of Homedale, Idaho and Shady Lane RV serve travelers who want hookups close to town, while Canyon Springs RV Resort and Caldwell Elks Lodge sit a short drive east toward Caldwell and Nampa.
Most parks in the immediate area are privately owned, so reservations go through each property directly rather than a central booking system.
Things to do near Marsing
The Snake River is the anchor activity. Boat ramps and river access points in and around Marsing support fishing for smallmouth bass, catfish, and trout, plus paddling and tubing on calmer stretches. The Sunnyslope Wine Trail runs directly north of town through the Snake River Valley AVA, with tasting rooms concentrated along Chicken Dinner Road and Highway 55.
Givens Hot Springs offers geothermal soaking in an indoor heated pool and private hot tub rooms, with pool access included for paid overnight guests. For a longer drive, Lake Owyhee State Park sits south across the Oregon line, and Celebration Park east of Marsing preserves ancient petroglyphs along the river. Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell are all within an hour for groceries, laundry, and family attractions.

Summer runs hot and dry in the Snake River Valley. Daytime highs regularly push into the upper 80s and low 90s Fahrenheit from late June through August, with cool nights and very little rainfall. This is peak season for river recreation and wine touring, and it is also when private RV parks fill fastest, so booking several weeks ahead is prudent for weekends and holidays.
Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel. Greenery and wildflowers peak in April and May, and September into mid-October brings warm days, cool nights, and the start of harvest at Sunnyslope wineries. Wind is common in shoulder seasons, so sites with some shelter help.
Winter is cold but not extreme by northern-U.S. standards. Snow accumulates lightly on the valley floor, and fog can settle in for days at a time. Givens Hot Springs keeps RV and dry camping open year round, while some seasonal parks close or reduce services from late fall through early spring.

We had a fantastic week using this camper. Kyle was a great host and very easy to work with on pickup and drop-off. The trailer was clean and well stocked with essentials. We were able to make ourselves and two kids fit with the futon and convertible dinette/bed. Overall would happily rent from Kyle again!

How to book near Marsing
Private RV parks around Marsing handle their own reservations. Call the property directly or use its website; large third-party booking platforms do not carry every site. Givens Hot Springs takes reservations by phone at 208-495-2000 or by email.
For public land options within driving range, Idaho State Parks such as Lake Cascade, Bruneau Dunes, and Three Island Crossing use the IDAHO TIME reservation system through the state parks portal, with a rolling nine-month booking window for campsites. Federal sites operated by the BLM or Forest Service in the Owyhees and Boise National Forest use Recreation.gov, with a six-month rolling window for most reservable campgrounds. First-come, first-served sites still exist on BLM land south of Marsing but do not offer hookups.
What to expect in Marsing
Expect a small-town base with limited but sufficient services. Marsing has a grocery store, fuel, a hardware store, and a handful of restaurants along Main Street. Cell coverage is reliable in town and along Highway 55, but drops quickly once RVs head south into the Owyhee backcountry.
Roads to the main private campgrounds are paved and easy for any rig length, though interior sites at older parks can be tight for slide-outs and larger fifth wheels. Confirm site dimensions when booking. Summer sun is intense, so shade, awnings, and extra water are worth planning for.
Wildlife in the area includes deer, raptors, and rattlesnakes in dry uplands, so keep pets leashed and check under rigs before pulling out.

parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/parks/When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Marsing?
Marsing rewards travelers nearly year-round thanks to its mild high-desert climate at about 2,200 feet of elevation. The sweet spot is late April through mid-June, when daytime temps sit in the 65 to 80°F range, wildflowers bloom along the Owyhee foothills, and the Snake River runs full for rafting. September and October are equally magical, with crisp 60 to 75°F days, harvest season at Sunnyslope wineries, and far fewer crowds. July and August get hot (often 90 to 100°F), so plan early starts and shaded campsites. Winters are chilly (20 to 45°F) but generally snow-light at valley elevation. Pro tip: time your trip with the Marsing Disney Days festival in June for a true small-town Idaho experience.
weather.gov/boi/I've never rented an RV before. How does it work in Marsing?

Every RVezy host in Marsing provides a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery, walking you through the generator, water system, slide-outs, propane, and dump procedures so nothing feels mysterious. You can also message hosts before booking with any question, and 24/7 RVezy support is one call away during your trip. Marsing is an ideal first-timer base: Highway 55 and Highway 78 are wide, lightly trafficked, and surrounded by open valley views, making your first miles relaxed. Pro tip: book a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first trip, they drive more like a large van and park easily at Rivers Edge or Givens Hot Springs.

You are never on your own. Your host is also a direct resource through the in-app messenger for quick questions about quirks of their specific RV. Pro tip: before you leave Marsing, save the roadside assistance number and your host contact in your phone, and download offline Google Maps for Owyhee County since cell service thins out fast once you leave Highway 78.

Yes, cross-state RV road trips from Marsing are totally on the table. Most RVezy hosts allow travel throughout the continental US, and Marsing's location, just 8 miles from the Oregon border, makes it perfect for a multi-state loop. Popular routes include Marsing to Steens Mountain, Oregon (about 3 hours), the Alvord Desert (4 hours), Jackpot, Nevada (4.5 hours), or up to Glacier National Park (about 10 hours). Travel into Mexico isn't permitted on RVezy rentals due to insurance limits, and Canada travel depends on the individual host, so message them first. Pro tip: confirm your route with the host through the RVezy messenger so they can flag any tire or generator considerations for long-haul driving.
oregon.gov/odot/Pages/index.aspxWhat's the realistic fuel cost for an RV trip from Marsing?
Fuel is manageable when you plan smart. Most motorhomes you'll rent in Marsing average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, while smaller campervans can hit 18 to 22 mpg. Idaho gas prices typically run near or slightly below the national average, and you'll find competitive diesel and gas stations right in Marsing at the Snake River Mart and along Highway 95. Budget roughly $80 to $150 per day in fuel for a moderate touring pace in a Class C. Pro tip: top off in Marsing or Caldwell before heading into the Owyhee Mountains or up to McCall, as stations get sparse and pricier the further you get from I-84.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Marsing?
For peak summer (June through August) and any holiday weekend, book your campground 2 to 3 months ahead, especially for riverside sites at Rivers Edge RV Park, Givens Hot Springs, or Lake Cascade State Park up north. Idaho State Parks reservations open up to 9 months in advance through the official Idaho State Parks reservation system, and they fill quickly for Bruneau Dunes and Lake Cascade. For shoulder season trips in April, May, September, or October, a couple of weeks usually does the trick. Pro tip: if you strike out on reservations, check Recreation.gov for BLM sites in the Owyhee Field Office, where dispersed camping is free and stunning.
parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/reservations/What are driving conditions like around Marsing?
Driving around Marsing is refreshingly easy. Highway 55 and Highway 78 are well-maintained two-lane roads with wide shoulders and gentle grades, perfect for an RV. Traffic is light outside of Boise commute hours, and you're only 35 miles from Interstate 84 if you need to cover ground. Watch for crosswinds in the open valley, occasional farm equipment on rural roads, and winter ice between November and February on shaded curves near the Snake River bridges. The Owyhee backroads turn to gravel and washboard quickly, so most renters stay on paved routes. Pro tip: check Idaho's 511 system before you roll out for real-time road and weather conditions, especially if your route climbs toward McCall or Silver City.

If you need to dump between stops, Snake River RV Resort and most Boise-area parks offer paid dump access for non-guests (usually $10 to $20). Pro tip: top off your fresh water before leaving any campground, as fills can be limited along Highway 78 toward the Owyhees, and pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose to reach spigots at the older Marsing parks.

Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and onboard generator for off-grid stays. WiFi is rare onboard, but most rigs have power outlets for hotspots. Pro tip: filter listings by your must-haves like generator or sleeps-6, and check the listing photos for kitchen layout so you know if you are packing a full skillet set or just the basics.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marsing%2C+IdahoHow does the security deposit and payment work for a Marsing RV rental?
Payment is straightforward and secure on RVezy. You pay your rental total (including the protection plan, service fee, and any add-ons) through the platform with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before the trip, and it is released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape, typically within a few days of return. To avoid issues, document the RV condition with photos at pickup and dropoff, return it with the agreed fuel and tank levels, and stay within mileage and generator limits. Pro tip: clarify dump and cleaning fees with your host in writing through RVezy messages before pickup.
